  1. Think there was a thread on another board where Enriquo explained why you tend to get more buffs in winter, something to do with them being more active than carp in colder water?, also stuff about sensitive bite indication

  2. I could see how a running rig might help, better indication, also these fish rarely seem to bolt. I've seen a few in the side and dropped a few boilies in for them, they are very docile, just quietly check the boilies out and nudge them around. One fish sat there a played with them a bit and didn't even move when I dropped a few baits on it's head :D . When we first started catching them on town, we assumed there was a small number of them in a few spots we located. That's the cool thing about fishing, easy to come up with a theory :D . Anyway once we (more like pat :D ) worked out how to regularly catch them, it turned out they are all over the lake and plenty of them too :D. Have to add at this point we haven't caught 100's so there are probably loads of other anglers with way better insight, example wound be phone

  3. Nice Fish Koi! :D  Do they fight as good as carp?

    saskcarp,

you never know what's going to happen with a buff, sometimes they seem to just swim in a circle and come straight in, sometimes they kick your ass like a big carp, moving slow but go where ever they want. Best I've seen was Pat trying to land a big one with a 3.5lb tc NG totally hooped over. The fish just swam up and down a deep margin for 5 minutes, totally unresponsive to the pressure, I sat there on a rock with the net LMAO

  4. here's a st lawrence carp, caught near the iroquois dam. Was staying at the Joe Babbit cabin that Telfish has been talking about. If you go to the larry get some advice on how to catch the bigger fish, try talking to someone like KingCarp, Telfish or Big Al

  5. are there largemouth buffs in the Austin Lakes?, was just wondering if the large fish rolling but never caught are largemouths???? Don't know much about these fish myself, but I was reading the largemouths don't feed on the bottom and if you look at there mouths they are not downturned like the other buffs????????
