Hopping to get again at the weekend if the weather not to bad but no to this little river off to a bigger water hopping for some bigger fish !!!

  4. Great report with detailed bait and method. I have learned lot from this forum. Noticed you didn't use bite alarm. So you had to keep alert every second. Curious if you used float. Thanks for sharing.

Ah Yeah float fishing is my fav from of fishing (goes back to childhood) but my last few Sunday session have been using a simple slip sinker (lead) so yes have to keep a good eye on the rod tip for those bites.

never used an alarm in my life. i like simple old fashion ways of fishing. just the way i like to Fish i enjoy it and works for me but each to his own. as long we enjoy no way is the write or wrong way as long you catch and enjoy .

And talking of float fishing went out for a couple hours yesterday armed with my Fav Waggler and manged to net 7 more Nice wild River Carp and this lovely little

    Gold Hybrid....................

  5. So my 3rd Sunday in a row i get down to my local Creek and again hit Double figures 11 fish hit the Net that's now 32 November Carp . ok no real huge beast most between 5 and 8 lbs

but good fishing all the same it's been fun fishing with light tackle and these fish have been fighting like crazy a good few jumping a good foot in the Air Great Fun.

This Sunday again i keep it simple with a simple Slip sinker with two bits of sweet corn ( Soaked In garlic) on a size 4 Hook . with ground Bait of Curry flavored Bread and Cornflakes Mix

with few bits of feed Corn every Hour and half or so.

It was a lovely crisp fall day the sun shone all day though my feet were like blocks of ice by time i headed for home. Man i love fishing here in Southern Ontario Brilliant.

and this week 3rd time lucky as a couple of little bit bigger fish did hit the net one of 17 Lbs and a nice 12 Lbs . get in !!!

Hoping i get a couple more session in before the Big Freeze !!!

What a Lovely Fall Day but nearly time to go Home My feet are freezing !!

  6. Spice !! they like lots Spice in Winter . Curry Powder good i Netted 10 fish Sunday using Curry Flavored Bread and Cornflakes Mix This November ive been using Sweet Corn soaked in garlic and have netted 33 November Carp

Not many big ones Fishing a small river, but they do seem to like lots spice in the Winter.

  7. I love the look of those lean river fish, Hawkwise! Thanks for that report. Enjoyable reading as always.

PS.. You gotta take your carping into the winter months. Just layer up, and as long as your dressed for it, it's as enjoyble a way to spend a winter morning as anything!

Hmmm ewww think i will stick to my Warm studio and my Guitars .

  8. All praise the gurt carp! You can fish the Little river all year, Hawk. Atleast in part of it ( lucky buggar) :)

Yeah near the water plant, though i am not much for freezing me nutts off for spot of fishing soon as the big freeze comes i will be hibernating into my studio.

Music :icon_smoking: in the Winter and :swimminfish: Angling the rest of the year.

  9. Been Lucky enough to have two nice session the last two Sundays were the weather been good and i have had time to get to the river

bank, the first Sunday 4/11/12 The wife was off to her sisters farm for a spot of Horse riding so that could only mean one thing for me FISHING !!so i dropped my lovely Mrs of at the farm and i headed of to the near by stream (my fav fishing spot this time last year ) which is handy as it's only 5 min drive from the farm

Well i get there and turn down the little track AND nooooooooooooooooooooooo there right in the middle of the swim not one but two

trees one must of hit the other and they both ended up right in the middle of the stream it was now impossible to fish damn it.

So now what ? hmmmm i could try the near by River Canard which was only 5 min drive (but fishing been poor there this year ) take a longer drive to down town Windsor and little River. or head back home to my Local creek , hmmmm what to do ?.

Got to be my Local creek as i always catch and i can pick up a nice Cup of tea and Bacon Sarny from our local Farmers Cafe on the way

    so this i did.

And so after 5 and half hours fishing 15 bars of Gold Hit the net was a lovely few hours fishing !! oh ok so no big fish they were all between 5 and 8 Lbs

but to me any fish is a good fish.

Tactics was my usual for this swim just a simple slip sinker with Sweet corn on the Hair , With ground bait of Cornflakes, hemp seed and Bread

and chumming with Feed store Corn. brilliant.

And the following Sunday 11/11/12 i repeated the same with 7 bars of Gold hitting the net again no big fish and again all the fish were around the 6 to 8 Lbs mark but again a nice day fishing. Fingers x for good weather again this coming Sunday so can make it a nice 3 in a row.

    Cheers folks

  10. Had a nice Long session today ( 9 Hours) most my session are around 3 to 4 hours so it was nice to spend a whole day down at the water side

fished a different spot today same Creek bit further down and around the bend from were i have been fishing

and it seem to of paid of as 15 Carp and 5 hybrids hit the net most of the fish were between 5 and 10 pounds with 4 a little bigger.

Weirdly the biggest fish of the day was the first and with the first cast and just 5 min later ( i was still finshing seting me stuff up) we were of on a nice big run and then oh oh he taking of towards my bank and the reeds to my left and having only a short rod this could be tricky

after a bit of tugging and pulling and finaly having to put the Rod in the water and pull he was out into the middle again few and into the Net

    Get In !!.

Tactics today were a simple slip sinker with two bits of Corn (Corn soaked over nite in Garlic) on a hair . and Chuming with Maze and Ground bait of Bread, Cornflakes, Hemp seed, Mix. simple.

The sun shone all day , the Cheese and Tomato Sarnys and Apple pie and cups of tea went down lovely .

    aahhhhhh

    Cheers tight Lines

as it went in the net i thought hey not bad fish that then as ilifted it up oh boy he is a heavy beast didnt look partcually big but darn he was

heavy , i dont often weigh my fish unless think it;s a bit special had to weigh this one couse it just seem darn heavy for it's size

couldnt believe it when i saw the scales hit 20 lbs , he did have broad shoulders but still couldnt belive it , must had lead in his belly i reckon.

What a way to spend a lovely sunny Sunday October , I dropped my lovely wife of to work

then yeah it's fishing for me. First off i went to small tributary of the Canard River havent fished it since end of April as the water levels have not been good (Caught a lot good fish there last year ) well i went had a look today and water levels are back up in that spot but further up and down stream the water levels are still really poor

so would there be fish here ? hmmm so gave it go for couple hours on the float nothing doing .

So head of back to my Local creek to my fav little spot,Chumed up with some good old Maze and some ground bait of

Bread, Cornflakes , and Hemp Seed . Fishing on the Float with hook bait of sweetcorn using a 6 ft Canadian Tire spinning Rod . and half hour later i am into the first of 12 fish what a cracking session.

most of the fish were around the 5 to 8 pound mark , but then those 3 Gurt beauty,s poped up. Get In !!

Also had this wierd looking thing attached to one of the carp as you can see.................
