How do you prepair the Kidney beans ??
I used tin beans so they are ready cooked so straight out the tin, i then put them in a jar with some aniseed Corn gave it all a good shake.
first fish is nice!
Yea i think may well be a P.B. i did weigh it (27 lbs a pb ) but i dont think my scales are very accurate need to get some new one,s these old Wallmart ones not very good
i know we like to put numbers to our fish , but it's not really that importent it's the enjoyment of fishing that counts .
but he was a beast of a fish must been nearly 40 inch long .
As an Englishmen I Love the Carp fishing over here we really are very lucky to have so many fine waters to fish.
going to spend today preparing some Maze ............

Today i got nice big bag of Maize/ Corn from the feed store. so folks how to prepare the said Maze ?
Googled it found a good few ways, but thought i would ask you guys

Went out this evening for a short session got couple of Nice Kippers again
Once again the Crazy Englishmen has an audience this time another Angler and his whole darn family had come over take a look. But it was good to have someone take the Photos though, instead of Me and my Rubbish self takes. Then Kids even lined up behind to have there photos taken with crazy English dude and his huge Gurt carp.

Awesome . I live on Lake Erie down here in Essex County but never fish the actual lake such big body of water just kinda overwelming . there couiple nice docks that see folk fishing off but there fishing Walleye
might try and give it go. but not shore really how to go about it as ive always fished smaller waters, tend to fish on the Float. but hey first time for ever thing eh ?
Some cracking fish there. as Englishmen fishing over here beem amazed how long some these fish get i caught one today 41 inch long amazing .

Yeah was nice to be back on the Float , i dont normaly fish that side of the Bridge much because it is very snaggy ( there's a bit off old tree stuck down there and i have pulled few strips of wire and metal from there in the past , so god knows what's down there ) so using a lead or feeder not really a good idea .
So fished using a Float going shallow and chumed the swim a fair bit , and put in a few floating pellets in and it seemed to work ok , gues i should really fish that side more often as always do seem to catch one or two. but also have lost fair few rigs that side .

Hello Folks i used Kidney Beans as my hook bait for the first time yesterday with some good results , but was wondering about the safety and harm to the fish. i did boil them the night before and they were Tined beans. so should be ok for the fish ?
was just wondering if that's ok as i dont want to be using a bait that might ultimately harm the fish.

Well got my Local water today and the Dutch boys were there again in my Swim
lol ha ha so headed of over the other side of the Bridge for a Changewhich can be a bit more challenging due to it being a bit on the snaggey side. so fish on the Float with not much depth.
Used a new Bait today Kindey Beans ( and yes i cooked them before hand last night.) and they seem to work ........
First of The Day 29/4/12. 10LBs
2 nd of the day 29/4/12 and 4 th 20 Pounder of the Year
Noisy Feckers .............. 29/4/12
Nice Fish 7 Lbs. third of the day . 29/4/12 .
Almost look like a Crucian carp . Carp goldfish Hybrid ?

Dusk and the Wife about to turn up to take me Home.... shame as the Fish were just getting Lively oh
well there always another day.
The Dutch Boys only caught one so 4- 1 to England ....

Intersting stuff folks , talked to some locals today they dont like couse there hard to catch when do hook em when trying to catch Cats they Snap there Line
they also thought the the Carp take over a kill the Habitat of the Ohter fish. so alot of mIss Information about the wonderful Carp.
Stiil as Long they keep to catching the Bullheads and Cats and Sheepheads it leaves more Carp for me ha ha.

Yeah small about 5 LBS but she was a buity , lots of nice deep orange on her fins. and the Bottom of her tail was almost red
i love catching lovely little fish like that Not always about the Biggy's .

Went out yesterday for a few hours there nothin doing not even a knock , was just packing up thinking oh well looks like a Blank session
when this little fella poped up small but lovely looking fish.
Also met a couple Anglers who are over here from Holland (working for one power companys ) we are going to get together for a bit of a fishing
the end of May which is cool. nice to finally meet another Carp angler down this way.

How and why did the Carp get such a bad name ( Garbage fish pest etc etc) in this part of the World ?
This is my thrid year here now Carp fishing and in all that time i have only met 3 other Carp anglers down this way (Essex County ) and One those was English like me the Ohter Two are from Holland ( we are getting toghther soon for a bit of a fish In ) .
All i get around here is why are you fishing for those garbage etc etc . so i am intersted as to why and whats the History beheind this ?
when Carp Angling to me realy is the best Angling there is the King of Fish !!!.
P.s
But it is also to great to see a Group such C.A.G. trying to change that and to see so many folk loving there Carp fishing.

Brrrr was a tad Cold that Morning. Blanked but who cares when you get to the water side and see this .
7 am 11/4/12.
Fine time for timer on camera to take out focus Picture Grrr , But who cares haha.. New P.B 26 pounds

Caught 4 Channel Cats .
Gurt Big Tail . Caught with a audience of teenagers who came running across the bridge to watch the Drama of the Big fish. 16 and half Pounds of Pure Power. 18/4/12
There be nice big Carp in them there waters .
Ready for another Carping session !!! Ground bait of
Hawks sooper dooper bait bombs and Wallmart Corn . and for the hook bait . Tutti Frutti Monster Maze. and Cukk Aniseed Corn . sorted .

Nice i love fishing with a Float most of my fishing is done that way nothing like seeing that float move then diseaper , never used a centre pin though .

Well been a funny few days i decided to do some pre baiting for couple days starting Sunday Night in hope of getting a nice day session on Tuesday so i off i went Sunday Night with my Home Made Bait bombs and a few bits of Corn . Come Monday Morning and the weather is on the change its really really windy but i still go on down to the water and again put some my home bait and some corn out , and spend some time watching the water, the water level had dropped a good 5 or 6 inch since Sunday hmmm.
Come Tuesday and still very Windy so much so i decide not to even attempt to try and fish it's just to damn Windy but still take a drive down to look at the water oh wow the water level had dropped another 3 feet the lowest i have ever seen it . but i am there so i still put a few bits of bait out and pray the water level comes back up soon.
Well wake early Wednesday Morning and take another drive down to the water, well well the water right back up again almost to what it was on Sunday few. I stay for 20 min watching the water and yep there in the baited swim fish movement and those dark clouds drifting up from the water Bingo !!! time to fish . so i head on back home for some breakfast then back for a days fishing. as i walk in the door The wife is just putting down the phone, "Are you planning going fishing my dear " ? "um yes i shore am " Um sorry Love that was the Lawyers Office we have to go in today to sign some forms ( My Permanent resident card up for re new ) we have appointment for 2 , Noooooooooooooo.
So that's the day fishing gone grr grumble grumble. Well i finally find myself at water side at 5 .30 pm it will be dark by 8 ish so i have 2 and half hours to catch some fish.
Ist of the two a 22 and half Pounds of Pure Power !! Get In . Caught while talking to the Local Policemen , who took pics on his phone of the strange Englishmen Catching Gurt Carp.
The second of the Evening . 21 LBS get In .
so all worked out pretty good in the End

Well the alarm went of at 4 30 this morning finally got my ass out of bed at 5 had a cuppa tea and bowl cornflakes of i go
and arrive at my usual spot at 5 30 climb on down AND holy cow batman the Carp going nuts in the shallow water and the reeds oh oh the Carp are Mating or Spawning ? hmmm looks like my luck on catching some nice Carp today gone out the window then.
Do they feed and can you Catch Carp when there going crazy like this ? oh well ill give it go anyway some 4 hours later nothing not nimble
so frustrating there Carp Splashing jumping all over the place can almost reach down and touch them , now staring to get really hot to so move to the other side of the bridge into the shade and change my rig to just a hook and some corn and float it on the top. 20 min later bang the line
goes of like a shot here we go at last good fighter he was to. and then just 5 min later Bang here we go again wooosh another fine fight.
And that it, a fine Morning fishing i would stayed Longer but it just got to damn HOT . but good Morning at the Office.

Hello my Real name is David some folk call me Hawk i am Englishmen living in Harrow Essex Near the City of Windsor and of course being Englishmen i like to Fish for Carp
Where i live haven't found any other Carp lovers , all Walleye and Bass nuts around here , i went into the local fishing tackle store asked about some Carp gear the guy looked at me as if i just escaped from the lunatic asylum and said there a rubbish Fish and a pest if we catch them by mistake we kill and burn them gee and he called himself a fishermen , but guess that what ya get when you live in the so called Walleye Capital of Canada .
Still i guess that leaves lots Nice Carp for me, I fish at the Local Creek (Cedar Creek ) where there are lots of Lovely big Carp (and big Cats).
