  1. Fake White corn and for the method, ground up banana boilies and corn steep liquor pellets then added creamed corn.

I have my rod tips in the water because I want the line as close to the bottom as possible, also my tips dont move when the wind blows. Make sure its above freezing when doing this lol!

When fishing smaller lakes I get alot of line bites.

Great show Rebel...I know how the COLD water carpin can be and ANY catch is a good catch.

Also fish a lot with my tips in the water too, helps combat "wind bites"......Nice looking set up and good looking venue too !! Hope those banana boilies start hauling for you soon (which I know they will).

  2. If money is the biggest thing and someone really can not afford buying quality name brand gear.....I would still have a hard time recommending they buy BFS gear...some of it is OK (but not much) , but some of it is complete junk (most)....I have seen their banksticks in person and seen them break first use. I bought a BFS Hi pod for my son , wow I was didsappointed in even a cheap pod just how cheap it is made...ended up buying him another pod to replace it.

I say if money is tight...SAVE...until you have enough money to buy tackle from a KNOWN proven quality tackle brand....if you buy cheap , it ends up costing you more in the long run because you will not get the amount of years from it as you will from a better brand.

  3. Great job on the catches. Keep it up.

Hey scott if u need a partner im definitely up for it.

I might just hold you to that next year Rob !!!

Yea way to go Brandon and Austin , I knew you two would do well !!!! And congrats on the new PB's guys and gals !!!!

  4. Heck yea , sure wish I was there...maybe one of these years I will find a partner from Ohio and join in the fun....but seeing as there are no Ohio teams in this event this year, I will happily cheer for the Mich teams.

Awesome fish by the way Nikki , big congrats !!

  5. So your spring on the spool broke and you replaced it...now the spool spins like your drag is too loose.....did you replace the spring with the same factory one or did you get one from a hardware store ? Reason I ask is the new spring may have too much tension or not enough and you will have to adjust your drag knob tighter or looser than you did before.

Had many Okuma baitfeeders back in the day and so did some of my buddys , some the baitfeeder clicker would break easily , some the fighting drag.....I even have one newer Avenger 40 that has only been used a few times and it will kick out of anti-reverse whenever it wants to...bought it for my Girlfriend to use.

Only Okuma that I have owned and had ZERO issues from is my tiny Okuma Epixor 20 that I use for light tackle live bait fishing....I will never own another Okuma , theres a reason why they cost is low , sadly took me buying a few to find out why. You might get lucky and get a good one, like my EB20 , but its rare to find an Okuma that doesn't have some issue.

  6. I highly recommend the mudfeet to anyone buying an Eclipse , tri-pod style pods are very well known for being "tippy".....no matter what brand.

Have a buddy that had the Prologic tripod and seen it tip over in high wind...completely dunked one of his Delkims , when ever that happens, take back cover off , remove the battery and let dry out totally....good as new after that.

  7. First, I looked on both BCT and Wackerbaits and could not find the Eclipse case..might want to contact either and see if they can get it for you.

2nd, I LOVE those new Fox butt rests. I have been a big fan of the John Roberts rubber butt rets for many years because all the others I tried rotted and fell apart after a season or two...these new Fox butt rests are great...I use the small ones for all my abbreviated rods and the larger ones for my full cork handles.

For those who dont know , these butt rests are MADE to grip the rods TIGHT , trying to pick up the rod without releasing the butt grip first will result in carnage to your pod...thats why they were designed to grip, so a caro wont take your rod if fishing locked up or snag fishing...when you get a run, take your time (the carp is hooked already if using the right rig) , grab the rod and with your thumb, push down on one side of the butt rest and the rod will quickly release..once you have done it a few times it becomes second nature and can be done in one smooth motion

Nice pod, nice rods and great choice in reels....my kind of set up.

  8. The Idaho version of a bait boat lol.....

    attachicon.gif102_1578.JPG

I would watch craigslist you can find nice used aluminum boats for a couple hundred bucks.

Now THATS a boat...nothing better than a jet boat for running a river..just go right on threw riffles with out letting up. Jet boat is certainly my dream boat...one of these days. The one I want will go through 2.5" of water on plane , perfect for getting to where others cant go.

  9. In the FFF i won a $50.00 Wild Carp Company tournament voucher, as i probably not get to use it i'd like to put it up here.

Just make a $25.00 donation to cag, i will pass the info on so you can collect from WCC.

    Hey Bait,

How about this , I will donate the $25 to CAG in the name of the OHIO chapter and let one of the guys that handle the NEW MEMBERS registration do a drawing like they did for the Saxon rod and give that voucher to a new carper ?

Just a thought, if its all agreed, I will pay-pal the funds tomorrow.

  10. Excellent pod... I added the mud feet to mine they were worth the extra $

I second that, tri-pods are known for being a bit "tippy" and the wide foot of the mudfeet sure makes it even more stable....plus if fishing on dirt you can push in bivvy pegs and not even 50 mph winds will blown this pod over .....now it might blow your rods off the pod, but the pod will stand strong.

One of the most user friendly pods on the market , I really love being able to change the angle of my rods without having to remove my rods, change legs, etc.....I fish a lot with my rod tips in the water on certain waters and conditions, while other waters I fish tips high and this pod lets me do this in 2 seconds.

I also bought the Eclipse case and extra wide 4 rod buzz bars , but find my custom 2 rod buzzbars get used more than anything.

  11. Never had any problems with Paul's service.

Can you give us some more info/pics on that float rod.

I will also say that this float rod was purchased to be used with an Okuma Sheffield centerpin reel , yep i'm FINALLY going to give this style of carp fishing a real try this year. I also have the option of using one of the 12' 2.25TC Stalkers with the centerpin too for a little heavier work.

  12. Never had any problems with Paul's service.

    Sure can -

Fox Stalker Float rod , 12' 2 pcs. 1.50TC , full length chevron pattern finish , full length cork handle.

My first impressions, crisp feeling blanks even on the 12' 1.50TC Float rod.....high quality fuji reel seats and guides and quality cork handles with matt grey metal Fox butt caps. Super slim blanks and great feel in your hands....I really cant wait to get a fish on them...its killing me !!!

    What Fox says...

    "STALKER® 12FT 1.5LB FLOAT

Designed primarily for float fishing for carp on the Dutch and Belgian canals this two piece float rod is also a perfect all round specialist float rod for other species, such as tench, and it has also been used successfully on commercial fisheries in the UK. The fact that it is two piece rather than the usual three makes it easy to keep set up in your sling or holdall between sessions.

Guides are sized and spaced as for a traditional-style float rod."

  13. When I arrived from work today, my "special" order from Wackerbait & Tackle had arrived.....everything was in great shape due to very good packaging (certainly not for UPS taking great care of it of course) and I am VERY happy with my Fox purchases.....what did I get ? thought you would never ask.

One - Fox FX 13' 5 rod holdall (not for the rods below, but for long road trips to protect my expensive 13' rods)

Two Fox 9' Stalker rods (2.75TC)

Two Fox 12' Stalker rods (2.25TC)

One Fox 12' Float rod (1.50TC)

The holdall is super padded and very well designed and takes care of those who use 50mm butt rings , plus the padded inside flap has a pocket for net handle, shelter (Oval or Brolly) and a bankstick pocket..not on the outside like most holdals.

Rods are freakin awesome, crisp blanks, full length chevron design and full cork handles...what all carp rods should have.

Thanks Paul , once again great service and great products...I will be intouch for more carpin goodies.
