  1. Scott...he's a Buckeye...just not a OSU Buckeye Fan....I'm pretty sure that's what he meant. Fact be known I'm not a "Buckeye" Fan either...or MIchigan for that matter LOL!!!!

HAHAHAHA...I know, I was just messing with Tim , figured he was a die hard Mich fan or something...I for one dont watch the football or basketball so NO I am not a big OHIO STATE sports fan by any means...but I was born and raised in OHIO , so I am a buckeye through and through...guess I better cancel that order for Team CAG Ohio shirts in scarlet & grey huh ?:lol::D

  2. "I had problems with bugs in the sacks, and friend that runs a feed store said the larvae is in the feed already, and at about 95 degrees it hatches and they start eating. He said keep it cool, and the bugs don't hatch."

I hear ya, I empty the bags as soon as I get them home into buckets with air tight lids (Gama seals) and I never have issues with larva hatches.

  3. WOW.....you Michigan guys are getting a deal...Scott charged me 5 kg HNV unflavored boilies (to grow em) to go with him...figured for out of staters it would be double ;)

HAHAHAHA , good one Bob !

  4. That place has some absolutley amazing looking mirrors, i just want to let you know im coming over that way to catch those awsome mirrors one way or another!

And you have only seen a small few of them ..if you seen them all you might head down now...lol, PM me your e-mail and I will send you more pictures..plus I will send you a link via BING MAPS to where this water is.

Like I said, just give me a notice and I can meet you guys there and set you up with a good spot and let you know what I have been catching them on (and give you some if you dont have some)...all I ask in return is take care of the fish (which I know you guys do), treat them good and put them back in healthy so we can keep on catching them .

  5. Just showed those pics to my wife , she said, "very organized but I think you have as much gear too"!

Yea you dont want to know what my fiance says about me taking up 90% of the basement with FISHING gear....only nice thing is , if she does not see me carry any new gear in and I make it to the basement, she cant tell I bought new tackle..if she makes a comment about something, I always say...nah I've had that for awhile..lol.

  6. Unfinished basement for me. Nothing like "Scotts Tackle shop" though!! thats just showing off, lol

LMAO...I seriously just walked down stairs and snapped those pics before I posted them , reason I said excuse the mess...if it was a planned photo shoot to "show off", I would have put all my reels back on the peg board, put all the rods back in the racks and put out my 5th pod together (but I used it yesterday)....hehehehehe

Trust me there and many guys on here that have larger rooms for their carp tackle with a lot more gear.

  7. As long as the rivers dont freeze over and you can find the deeper Wintering holes, you can continue to catch all Winter long. I normally fish mid day (9am - 2pm) or heat of the day (11am-4pm). If its really cold , I will take a 4-6 hr. fire log in my rucksack to keep my hands from freezing after handling fish , rebaiting, etc. If the spot is close to my truck , I will take one of my Fox shelter and bring my little buddy propane heater.

Good luck to you guys up there...caught a few myself yesterday in 42 degree water temp.

  8. Yea I also store the bulk of my gear inside the basement (Carp Cave).

Only items I store in the garage are buckets with field corn that's soaking or empty buckets (have too many to keep all of them inside the house), all my dry items are store in either large container (40 & 50 gal) w/ gama seal lids or 5 gal buckets with gama seal lids.

My carp cave- excuse the mess - been fishing and have not picked my stuff up and put it away.

  9. Thanks guys, another nice fish from a great water...one of the only "lakes" I like to fish. Water temp was 42 degrees...but with 6 channel cats, 2 commons and 2 mirrors they didnt seem to mind the cold.

  10. Thanks Bob, had an absolute great time catching up. Sorry about the gear thing, but truthfully I was packing light, reason for the 9' Tribal stalker rods.....guess you best be warned then for one of our weekend long events on the bank with me..lol.

I posted the links for the gear on the other forum for you..again tell your wife i'm sorry :D , somethings are worth falling off the wagon for ya know.

I need to bring my normal 12' 2.50TC rods next time and explore the longer range I normally fish at there, I think the warmer weather had the bigger fish up on the ridge in the middle. I will be back there next weekend if your interested ? (weather permitting)

  11. Dave , LOL , look here bro...

    http://www.carpanglersgroup.com/forum/index.php?showforum=85

I registered, haven't fished a FFF since the first annual one, not 100% sure I will get out, but just in case I signed up.

If anyone in Columbus wants to get together, I have a spot that will hold 3 anglers max.

Glad to see you back Rick, if my plans for a Columbus FFF fall through, maybe I can talk the Shiflet brother's into coming with me down to Hamilton and fish with you guys ?

  12. We do not know anything about the venue just yet, it is to be explored. If any of the Ohio and Michigan crew want to set a date to give it a go, then lets set up something.

All we know is that is has a ton of natural food, loads of bankspace and the water was 100 degrees in July when Daniel discovered the spot. Nobody has fished it yet.

Andy, what was the power plant you fished last year...or maybe the beginning of this year ? I remember seeing a picture post of yours that showed a real nice hawg and looked to be a power plant ? Maybe i'm mistaken ?

We have a place that run 100+ degrees in Summer...not a fish to be found anywhere around it...but come Winter its like 75 degrees and the fish STACK in there...I have seen Flathead catfish caught in Jan. from this spot but we mostly fished it for Hybrid Stripers that came in to feed on the millions of shad. Some of us plan to try it this Winter for Carp as we know of a atleast one 30 lber from there.
