Ive given away little carp many times to RESPECTFULL anglers that eat them, this european guy was tellin me how he bbqs them with garlic and enjoys them with some home made wine. He had a keepnet to put them in, and treated em well while they were alive. He asked me nicely if he could have one after he was catching nothing and ive already released a few 5-7lbers. So i gave him the next two i caught and it clearly made his day he shook my hand with a big smile, and told me stories about the "old country" and how he only keeps the small ones now, Ill remember that day for awhile, it left me with a good feeling nothing wrong with eating small carp if thats what your into. Gj tony, enjoyed the post!

Fishingworld.ca (hamilton) has one or two and billsbait on the moutain can order them within 2 days aswell, basspro or any other big fishing store will probbly carry them aswell. Its one of the more popular steelhead float rods around these parts. Make a few calls and you will find one closer probably the other waggler rods are great to,(i hate foam grips) but i use a centerpin for float fishing and wanted a rod that will balance my reel out aswell.

Sweet, we can host a snakehead fishing durby when they arrive! Im down :D

Looks like lots of work, glad it payed off, welldone guys!

A monster! Well done Jeff

I use a 11'6 Raven IM6RW medium action float rod(handles 12lb line). Better then any "euro waggler float rod" i've picked up(way better) lots of power for big carp and if you snap it for any reason the lifetime warrenty covers it. for around 200$ its reasonably priced and you can pick em up in local fishing shops. I wouldnt recommend anything else.

Hotfire lorne, yea those males.... Quite the scrappers well done sir!

Well done, thx for the video. Grats on the PB tone!

Ya a 26lb carp broke it in the net,as i was stalkin the goldfish (split shot came off i guess(old) and the float slid down to its doom, those floats are all balsa wood and crap imo, to fragile, so i put the jaxon float in the pic cause im shallow like that LOL. I was sight fishing the bait so the float was just to suspend my offering anyway. Mark, Koi !

That little match get together idea would be great, few of us fish confed pond, any style you want, maybe 10$pot most weight at the end of the day takes? Iunno sounds like a good time to me, open invite to cag locals. Id be down for somthing like that.

Hauling them in! WOTB has been good to you lorne, looking forward to see some more!

Looks like a awesome day of fun mark, size aint everything guess the match anglers know this best, but a day of fishing and catching is a day of fun, regardless of size thats time well spent! WTG buddy ima have to do a pole session with ya down there for sure, cheers mark

Today was my 3rd day of a 3 day H-Bay Float-A-Thon,(thats a mouthfull) the last two days were stellar with mirrors and many commons up to 29lb taken on a well balanced float and center pin(mirror Mania post). Today though was the feather in my cap! If you fished with me, you know my obession with goldfish, i chased them around dundas all winter with no luck! Today that all changed. I set up at a local swim and threw out my float with some offerings around it, a hour went past with no luck..i got the 1000yard stare going on my float by now and i notice a little flash of orange to my right...NO WAY!
Its on like donkey kong! This fish was on the move so i pack my gear up quicker then a gypsy, and begin stalking this fish. A under weighted float to keep the single kernal of sweetcorn infront of this goldfishes face cause he was cruising 2feet below the surface a size 10 hook for its small mouth, ok im ready! 30mins go by with no luck, im dropping it a few feet infront of him each time but hes ignoring the offerings. Then he pairs up with another goldfish!! WTFBBQ OH SNAP
I continue stalking these two fish for another 90mins! Back and forth along the rockwall, probably walking 2kms in the process, No luck I finally get one of the goldfishes attention with the kernal of corn and he turns to take a closer look..closer he comes..closer..THEN BAMMMM a 2lb Largemouth Bass smashes the corn and half my float with it. WTF??? Come on now... really? Being out of season i quickly unhooked him took a photo and put the bass back.
I catch up with the goldfish 30 feet down the rockwall and stalking continues another 20min untill they take me to a enitre school of goldfish!!! The two stop moving and huddle in with another 20 or so goldfish of all differant colors. Another 30min go by with my lightly placing my float in the school of them trying not to spook em to much, Then i get a take, not the orange one i wanted but a feral goldfish none the less!
Another 30mins of me placing my under weighted float around weeds and following this school of goldfish around, It finally happens! The biggest fattest orangest goldfish of the bunch does a 180 and sucks in the single kernal of corn! BOOYAAAA scatch that off the "to catch list". Almost 3 hours of stalking i finally got my orange beauty! Never worked so hard to catch a single fish, but i would do it again in a second, it was one of the most rewarding catches of my life, size aint everything!
Thx for reading, tight lines out there guys
