Catching fish on your own bait can be very rewarding. I always have the kids help me roll mine. Good luck.

I seem to have had a problem with high end japanese manufactured hooks breaking more so than cheaper hooks. the cheaper ones just bend and i bend them back and keep using them
-
Wacker Baits and K1 both have good bait and good service
-
Im sure they are fine hooks. I never had a problem with their hooks and ive used them as long as i can remember for all sorts of different fishing.

I use it whenever im not rushing to get rigged up. It is a great knot.

Holy crap that is huge. Im gotta go fishin.
-
who makes this wild peach berry?
-
I think your sinkers may be a bit small. I say 3 ounce for bolt rig. It seems huge when your not used to it but you have the rods to handle it.
-
Those are some great looking fish. Just wondering did you catch those without any prebaiting?
-
they are super tasty!

I tried to post these pics before but i was pretty medicated in the hospital. Here it goes again me my father and son. with fish from january until two weeks ago.I dont really understand how yanking fish out of the water and admiring there beauty or enjoying their nourishing flesh is one of the most fulfilling things in life for some people. but hope to be able to do it for a very long time.

Bricking works great if there arent any children around to put to work. they usually think its fun. another thing i do is roll into long snakes by hand then slice with a pizza slicer.

I believe that most hooks do just sort of fall out after a while. Many fish safety minded fly fisherman use Non-stainless steel hooks that rust away completely in a few. days. Maybe these hooks could be found in carp sizes and shapes.

These guys have good advice it just takes a little time to learn how they load up. Then you'll be casting a mile and looking cool doing it.

grassers are even better but like any one else i never harvest trophy fish
-

I had a really tough spring fishing carp this year as my usual river was pretty much druch dry and i was just getting to learn the whole euro thing. But that didnt slow down anything else. So without furher ado three generations of byers men catching loads of fishthese fish were one week aparthe caught that one by himself you can see it a travis vs. catfish on youtube
Well I was just hoping that would let you all get to know me a little better and know that im a true lover of the sport of fishing. And if it seems like i keep a lot of fish maybe i do but they are from well managed populations and I think its a good think to take food straight from nature when ever we can responsibly do so it is also passing down a tradition of outdoorsmanship. P.S. I always release trophy specimens of ANY species. And boy do you get some funny looks releasing an 18 inch crappie with a stringer of 12 inchers

sightfishing carp in the dead of summer is not the only way to go about catching them on the fly man. Many trout streams will hold carp all year round and they can drifting nymphs and such. The only downside to it (if you can even call it that) is all the pesky trout you catch along the way. But I know how to take care of them...

that was awssssssome makes me wonder what t dog ad been eatin

I once jumped off a bridge while fighting a big flathead. You guys make me feel young again.
-
aint nothin wrong with a small carp. its still bigger than a big bass
-
yes that sure is fun

The river i grew up on and learned how to catch carp on dried up this year after two years of drought feels like i lost an old friend. But i guess it will run again some day.

I use it in most of my carp fishing. An exposed hook is just more likely to hook a fish than a hook buried in bait.
