  1. Did you try the link for iphone/ipad? This has worked for me...

Didn't work for my iPad...said something about having to wait for some considerable time or something like that that I have never encountered before...

  2. I really enjoyed the diversity of coverage and perspectives...reflective of the carp angling 'scene' over here I think...and it not being overloaded with product placement and hard sell is always a plus for me...Great work Dean and Co..Keep it up!

  3. The "Osmond" technique is impressive, what you do is guess what you think the fish weighs (it doesn't really matter how accurate you are) and then (and this is the clincher) you ADD 15lbs to that weight....its a terrific technique for story telling, bragging rights etc etc...

  4. Maybe I'll answer on Iain's (redcoat) behalf for MA, not sure he saw this post. We had a venue in mind, space & logistics would have been reasonably easy, we organized the NEYC out there, and... well, results weren't impressive to say the least, very few takes. Maybe we didn't prebait enough, but we just can't take the risk. And I really can't think to any other suitable venue in MA.

Jerome, you guys can count on my help if needed in Mass...I think if we were to have it at the NEYC venue the results would be improved by a format tweak...maybe an overnight event?...my guess is that the fish run the shallow water after dark and first light...Is night fishing legal there? It's always a risk for any venue, they nearly all turn off if you look back over the years...look at the St Lawrence! Who'd have predicted so few fish from there!?! Anyway, count me in if you need it...
  5. Sounds great to me...bankside camping, chance of a spectacular fish...might be too far for me this time but you never know...I wouldn't worry about the numbers...only thirty or so at the last CCC...200 anglers signing up would be a great problem to have!

  6. Very true Mark. When I used it for bass fishing I really liked it. After my bad experience I found it hard to even want to look at it.

I had some similar experiences to yours....I even had a break off on a run..before I touched the rods...on a Paylake!..and I'd stripped ten yards or so off the spool before I set up because I'd had an issue previously...before that I had total faith in it. I think there was a bad batch out there...when I'm using braid I use Tuff line now which is probably the same stuff with a different brand name...it certainly looks the same, regardless it performs like the original PP...haven't tried the new Power Pro...

  7. I always like to keep it as simple as possible...many don't. I actually think that color is more important than flavor but again, many would disagree. It's probably better to spend time and perfect a couple of baits that you can always rely on....one for warm and one for the cooler months...and then tweak them to suit until you build a confidence in what you are using. Thats what has always worked for me anyway...good luck!

  8. I used to live in Portage county...you have a tough quest...Fox boilie thrower or not. There is or was some huge fish in Portage Lakes but access is extremely limited and the big fish are in the lakes that weed up...Wingfoot has twenties in it and used to have loads...and I mean loads of massive grassers (I lived on the lake) but I think the bow guys have decimated the stock, also Mogadore has some nice fish in it but it has a really silty bottom in most of the easy access spots...a twenty five plus mirror was found dead there one year...again, this is a very tough venue...maybe your K1 ground bait will make all the difference? There is also a day ticket fishery out East of Akron on rt 224 that I think could throw up a surprise...there is a couple of small pools there that have carp in them that are rarely if ever fished for...The best chance of huge fish is up on the big lake...Erie...Sandusky...
