  1. just pick up the rod, point the tip into the water...........if its real close just reel it in........I find back leads prevent proper bite registering especially during drop backs...........my opinion - as for this happening to other anglers..............you dont have to ask that question...........anyone who has fished hamilton harbour will tell you that the boaters dont care..........its that simple

    Better luck next time though.

    Thanks for the advice

  2. Try having a fish on with about 60 yards of line out and asking one of those boats to stop from docking, you got like a 70/30 chance of them stoping, but that 30%...LOL just hope your braid ####s their prop up

Me and Colin actually saw him stall after he was way out there, and he came back later and he was only using his trolling motor...and his 90 hp mercury was taken apart ahahahahahaha.....

Back leads, or dont fish there. Happens daily, always one or two will hug the pier, way it is.

This was my first session there, I learned my lesson, but then again so did that goof.

  3. Well I spent all of today at fishermans pier with Colin targeting carps. Anyways, we went from about 8a.m until 6pm. At about 1 pm (still without a single bump all day) some arrogant turd in a boat came right against the pier, and ran over my line, I politely asked him to stop the boat since he was so close so that I wouldnt lose much line, but, little did I know, I had encountered the bird of the year. This guy tells me to f off and guns it...he took about half of spool before I snapped it. I carried on fishing after re-tying my rigs. I cast back out but I knew I'd be screwed If I got a big fish due to the little amount of line I had left. Sure enough at about 6pm as we were packing up, my reel peeled and I hooked into a fairly decent fish, It took me around the corner and into the current, and stripped me down to my backing and then snapped me off. I came home with no fish, no line, and a sunburn. That dude in the boat ruined my whole day, has anyone else had a similar incident with arrogant people in boats? I mean like 100 people must have passed our swim in boats today yet this guy is the only one who came anywhere near us...

  4. Im so glad I found this group. Even though sometimes people start bickering over stupid stuff, I will choose to ignore that junk, ie. the world record thread (quit your bitchin, I think its awesome someone caught a 101lb carp) Any how, I just want to thank everyone Ive met, fished with and yet-to-have-met. Great group of guys on here I must say. Everyone is soo open to sharing their methods and experiences. Ive learned soo much from you guys. Its a lot different than lets say, a trout forum. Anyways, thanks all.

I agree with every word you just said.

This group is so supportive and unlike other forums where competitiveness gets the best of everyone. This group shows what fishing is really about, having fun, and sharing your experience and teaching others. Catching is just a bonus!

  5. This thread is a joke...........you guys need to keep the sh*t talking out of the Canadian section...........we dont do things like that here.......most of us try to colectively share and learn ideas......not talk crap and bash.......who cares where the fish came from, or how it was caught, or if it was a stocked fish! ITS OVER A HUNDRED POUNDS! Anyone trying to say oh this is crap blablabla..............jelous much? Hateful much?

If I caught this fish I would dump a load in my pants............Its sad that you guys come into the Canada section, dump all over it, call eachother media hos and bash european angling, and questioning if its even angling to catch this fish........while posting your catches of 12 pounds, and 16 pounds, 20 pounds, expecting nothing but pure positive comments to poor in on you!

Arvand.......I feel your pain yet again!

No offense buddy but your ability to call to someone a media ho is a bit lacking to say the least...........if you want to call someone out on something do it in a private forum, or pm - regardless of the past.........have a little class and as for your pictures, what a joke

EXACTLY - take a great thing and just RUIN IT - the american way!

Gurt this, gurt that........proper carp, apparently you forget the English and European way which is everything other than Proper carp.....is it really angling........it was still hooked, it was still landed..........as for GURT big holes.......we can throw English slang all over the place here........so many of the highest respected ponds, lakes and quaries in Europe are holes.........stocked with fish........dont forget your roots friend...........as for overfed............All english fish and European fish are overfed.............

Tristan no offense here buddy cause your a great angler to say the least............but if you got this fish you SH*T your pants and load it facebook in two seconds! As for trout, I never met a trout that wasnt stupid.

Just as you have the ability to call it like you see it............I DO TO...............so I call BS! if you caught this fish you would claim KING CARP just like your handle............I DONT CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS..............IF THEY GOT THIS FISH THEY WOULD SH*T and BRAG TO EVERYONE! INCLUDING ME! (sorry about the caps but this thread has taken a dump on carp angling in general)

A record is a record bro and if you got the record, youd be all over it! We all try to feed our fish the best so that way we can land them or "trick them" If you have spent any time on any of the european forums, english websites, english newspapers and channels you would know that this is a regular thing........a record is a record, regardless..........no where does it say a record should be of WILD waters, or wild fish........if that was the case everyone would be trying to get a 50........and even the 50 of Canada was from a water POUNDED WITH BAIT!

To everyone raping this thread........long story short, sure this isnt a WILD carp.............but who cares..........its over a hundred pounds! So what if some of us dont or do agree with it...........does that make any of us better people? Do the Canadians want the typical CAG crap in our section of majority paying members? NO! Does this thread give ANYONE the right to call people media HO's etc? NO

Hate on haters............let the crap flow below!

That was the most kick-ass comment I've ever read. Good on you Shawn!

  6. great stuff guys, nice fish! in regards to efficient for time put in.......keep at it and "build the swim" before long it will be more effecient than time put in....... train those fish to stay!

    good luck guys!

Thanks for the advice! Im getting sick of the carp peanut gallery at williams though lol, cant even shoot a video without getting interrupted.
