How could I have misssed the most obvious , Cabela's "whuppinstick" 9' medium heavy paired up with Okuma's is a brilliant setup . Plus the whuppinsticks come with a better warranty than Uglysticks . I own em and love em .
Austin loved his whuppin stick as well until I casted the top half into the Detroit river, lol. If I were you I would check out the classic carp rods, they are what a I started with and served me well for over two years fishing all the local MI waters.
