  1. The Carpinator,

Charley, you and your family were a Joy to Behold! The fact that each of you were enjoying the fishing and also that you were here is GREAT. I am one of many that are so very Glad that you took the time to come over. We look forward to having you return later this year and many years to come. Thanks again for making the time on the water more Enjoyable.

  2. For me, I use the 50lb. PP as my mainline and leaders of PP 20 or SW 20lb. on my Carp fishing gear. I also use a shock leader of 100 lb. to guard against the zebras that are present in my primary water. I have 100 lb. PP on my salt water gear and have a cople of reels with 200 lb. for open water fishing. This is what I have found that works best for me.

    -M,

What pics would you like? Fish caught while carping? Just other fish?

Here's what I would guess is the largest King Salmon ever caught on a boilie...30+lbs.

  4. Wels are like a Train that is heading away from the station. The initial take can be very light, but as the fish feels the hook, the gas is given. They have power that is not like any other fresh water fish. The methods mentioned above are spot on and the bouy system from the bank is a wonder to watch. The use of small bells on the tips of your rods will have you on the edge of your seats. The bait get nervous as the cats come closer and this is your indication to get on the rod. The teather is broken and the rodtips snaps back. The fish is is normally hook by this motion and you now have to WORK! Fishing from a boat is much easier to accomplish than on shore. You have the ability to follow the fish if required, but on shore you must tire it out before you can start to gain line back. The use of a reel with a larger line capacity is a must one way or the other for me. Conventional reel or spinning reels may be used as your gear. This is a matter of personal choice and each will be able to bring the fish in. The rods of choice for me are CatMaxx 10 and 11ft. in length. This allows me the flexibility of using them for boat or shore fishing with them without problem.

    Globe, those are Great FISH!!!!!!!!

  5. LONESTAR, Great photos!!! I would have a problem with that at home in Mississippi. <_< The idea of sitting on the river with your feet and gear directly in the water would be much too tempting for snakes and turtles. The area behind you would be in itself a Welcome notice. With it being as HOT as it seems on your photos, that might be DANGEROUS! :D Here in Europe, that would not be the case, but I don't practice this policy either. I will walk out and place fish back into the water or wade when lure fishing, but to sit there would not be comfortable for me! :D:D

  6. Soniq, GREAT Fish and incentive for me to again try the Pearl river at home once we go. Depending on the situation, I may take some tackle with us when we go home in May 2004. It would make me one of the Happiest fisherman in the world to go home and catch a Buff. We hope that you are able to do this again and again, but hopefully not with as much stress as you had to deal with over the Thanksgiving weekend. :D:D:D
