  1. Why continue to try to catch on something that doesn't work? You know what you caught fish on and you're still going to try a boilie that's proven just about non-productive. I feel about boilies the way I do about fancy bass lures, they are made to catch fishermen not fish. I have tried boilies and pre drilled pellets by Dynamite, I've tried boilies from K-1 and I have tried boilies that I made. I never once got a nibble on any of it.

  2. I bought my Wychwood Signature Alarms and a few other odds and ends from Harris Sportsmail. Their shipping is cheap and their prices are hard to beat. It takes 14 days for a package to get here from there, but well worth the wait.

  3. I have bought several items from BFS and I've only had trouble with 2 banksticks. The threaded part at the top came loose and either fell out or would spin around. I used some epoxy putty to fix them. I have their weigh sling, carry all, double sided dual rig wallet, buzzbar and alarm bag, 3 Camo alarms, 4 banksticks and buzzbars. I guess it depends on what you get as to the quality. I would never trust that a store brand reel would be anything but a disappointment.

  4. Hi guys,

I want to do a special piece on winter angling for the next NACA. If you have pictures, videos and/or stories to share, please let me know!

Additionally we might do a funny corner. If you have something funny to share, bloopers, more bankside crapping stories, whatever, I'll run it. Make it count!

Please send us a mail with you content: naca@carpanglersgroup.com

I guess that part will be linked with a bankside curry recipe! :o

  5. I have several ABF40's and they have oiled felt drag washers. If you haven't cleaned and serviced your drag you need to. It's very easy to do. Take the spring clip (I guess that's what it's called) off and empty the drag washers on to a paper towel. Take each washer off the stack and wipe the surface clean with a paper towel (they will alternate between metal washers and oiled felt washers), Add a few drops of oil to each felt washer and put the drag system back together in the order it was when you emptied it out. I don't know if this will solve your problem or not but it's necessary maintenance, and good to know.

  6. Tahoe has peoblems with construction causing sediment to flow in, and the fertilizer off of lawns.

That will be blamed on the goldfish for sure.

I wonder why the fish and game department didn't talk about how the non native bass will eat most of the new born goldfish. The goldfish probably got in there from people using goldfish for bait to catch bass.

  7. By definition I think that bait is what's on the hook or hair. What is referred to as packbait/method/groundbait is all chum. Chum lures the fish in, bait is what they eat to get hooked.

    Definition of CHUM
: animal or vegetable matter (as chopped fish or corn) thrown overboard to attract fish
    Examples of BAIT
    1. baiting hooks with live worms
  8. I use the Orange Cream, Peanut Butter and Plum, plus a combination of 2 I keep a secret. I use them in my oat doughball recipe. I have used several flavors by Lorann's in the past. They work very well. 1 1 dram bottle will flavor a 3 pound doughball nicely.
