  1. You know I will be at both of those fish ins Ed. Can't wait. As for the summer I'm thinking somewhere where we can do an overnighter. What about the spot you and Barry came to see me at ?

  2. Don sent me a pic of the other side of his 50. I won't post the whole pic because Donald didn't give me permission but I'll post a cropped photo comparing the scale pattern of his to mine by the gill plate. Not 100% sure but it looks pretty close.

Pretty close. Glad to see there are monsters less than an hour away.

  3. Well just got home from the Wild Carp Companies Fall Qualifier held in Baldwinsville New York. All I can say is what an adventure it was and what an adventure I had. Lots of obstacles in the way. Packed my truck and headed to work on Thursday night with plans to leave right after work. As I'm pulling in the lot my trucks electrical system dies and I lose all power. Made it to a parking spot but I was unable to start it. Great. I was dead in the water and had a 250 mile journey in front of me. Wtf. Knew it had to be my battery or alternator. Well after work a coworker drove me to walmart to get a new battery. Voltage seemed to be holding well after I swapped it out so I started my trip. As I was driving into Pennsylvania just over the gap my voltage started dropping. Great. It wasn't the battery, it's the alternator. Well I made it quite some distance, just shy of Bingamton New York when I was out of juice and had to exit the high way. I made it to a gas station and looked at a map. I had over 100 miles left till the magical Baldwinsville. It was roughly 7am. I asked the woman behind the counter if there were any auto parts stores around. She said there was one less than a mile away. I got directions but how was I going to get there? Well thankfully a gentleman who I never met helped me out. He finished pumping his gas and came and gave me a jump. Got my truck running but it died as I tried leaving the lot. He gave me another jump and I was off. Had to pull in parking lots and do circles at red lights to prevent stalling on the way to the store. Made it to the store. didn't open till 8. Waited for it to open and got lucky they had what I needed. Was also luck to have a socket set in the cab of my truck. Well I'm not a mechanic but I'm good with my hands. I was able to get the old one out fairly easily. The new one went on pretty easy but the serpentine belt was a to get back on. Took me a while to figure that out and thanks to Charles Jager was able to do the repair myself. On the road again!!!! Pulled off the exit for Baldwinsville and it felt magical. Came into town and pulled into the famous Red Mill Inn. Man, this town was awesome. Met my partner for the tournament, Barry Howard, at the red mill a few minutes after 12. What a relief it was to get there. I had prepared for weeks getting ready for the tournament. Met up with Ed Wagner and his son to walk the pegs before the 6pm registration banquet. Pegs looked awesome. Some I liked and some looked very hard to fish. Ate dinner at the famous B'ville dinner and headed back to the hotel to get some sleep before the 6am peg draw. Hung out with Mike Dragone for a bit before hitting the hay. 6am came quick. We drew pegs 11 and 18. Didn't like 11 and Barry agreed so we went with 18. Little did we know about the submerged rebar spikes coated with zebra mussels a few feet off the bottom. There was also a channel marker 20 yards off the bank which made it hard to fish. Gave it hell for 36 hours straight. Most fish came on the first day and over night. Had a few runs on Sunday but lost the fish. Best fish were two 25s and a 15. Caught load of fish 13 pounds and under but they didn't help us. Ended up somewhere around 17th place out of 25 teams. What a fun trip. Learned a lot, met some awesome anglers, and caught some nice fish. Can't wait for the spring tournament there and the fall qualifier. Will be back for sure again ready to conquer the mighty Baldwinsville tournaments on the Seneca river. Special thanks to Jason Bernhardt for putting on an awesome event and Cheryl Parciasepe for putting money into my account. The new battery and alternator put a nice dent in my funds. All in all a great time. When life throws obstacles your way I have learned to stay calm and weather the storm. Stay confident and don't get discouraged.

  4. I'm mostly fishing rivers that are mildly tidal. I work from 10pm to 5 am so I guess my only hope is to go right after work. Don't know if I'm allowed at the spots then but it's worth a try. Going to hit the water now. Ill let you know how it goes.
