  1. So here is the 3rd attempt to make some boilies at home ... the first two were too bad ..this ones seems better .. last two days it was all rain .. I put them out today to dry but here is how they look when prepared ..

its tigetnut powder 30%-cc more clo 30% + soya flour 30% 10% semolina + 2 spoons horlicks powder. I am waiting to see how consistent they be after drying today and yeah I will try fishing them this weekend.

  2. I checked last night to see the deals .. I see most of hotels in that area and getting sold out .. I guess frank is rite there may be some local event happening there around that dates .Thanks Frank for alert whatever the hotel we should book early..

understand we should try support the hotel which is supporting the event but its good to have more options . people travelling with family and small kids may want to look at some more options.

I had not booked yet ..will sit tonight to look ...have to confirm my little kids plan if they coming i will check few more otherwise I will get Broadview ..

  3. Im no expert with boilie but you have to have confidence in boilies and not give up quickly . you may not have instant takes as u would with sweet corn but when u get one u will get more ..

last time i was fishing with someone who didn't catch any on boilie seems he try few times .. I was fishing boilie and after 21/2 hr i got a fish and keep getting .. about 4 from them in next hour or so ... the other guy switched to boilie with no confidence as it never worked for him before but seeing me he wanted to try .. he got the big fish for day ~19lb in next hour of so .

take this easy its not boilie vs corn ... and its purely personal opinion.

  4. Me and Chad are goimg Saturday to finalize pegs and order trophies. Fish-On Bill

I am planning to be there on saturday and fish sunday... its just in plans .. I will try contacting you if i make it ..

  5. Very nicely written and much needed inspiration to people like me stuggling to get good numbers in summer here. the bite has slowed down around me and so i am .. but reading your post and tips i would want to try out soon.

you baited lots of boilies - did u used same boilie to bait that u used as hookbait ? Im thinking correctly you used about 1k boilies ?

Those are some beauties .. nice pic's

    Thanks for sharing
  6. Jaffar, don't keep your rods in the van if possible. Take them out and clean them. I clean my rods after every session; this goes for any rod. If you use monofilament line, the heat in the van can really do harm to the line. You don't want the line to break when you hook a good fish. FWIW, I have rods that are over 45 years old and reels that are over 55 years old and still can be used. They are retired now...like me. Take care of them and they will take care of you.

thanks that a very valuable advice.. i never thought of reel sitting in van in this heat ..

  7. here is little more - family friend is coming from UK in september - i thought if i could get a used brand rod for cheaper .. I will have a chance to put hands on those rods...but again if i am lucky to find a used rod in < 200$ but that being said .. if i have to get a rod in my budget the one mentioned here would be probable good bet . I love ugly stick's u guys may laugh f but a rod bought 3 year ago still works good 29$ . the only problem i had with is guides are too soft .. I easily fish method on a 1/4 ounce lead bullet and it cast easily about 30yards.

I wanted something that works for little longer - not worrying about rod getting softer or guides ...

  8. SoCal,

I dont want to break the bank..I am kinda happy with daiwa and it has taken quite a abuse in last two years or so.and im think to add few more rods and try a different one - frankly i do not take good care of my rods .. they stay in my old van for weeks .. as i said im on budget but want something that would stay longer not for big names but i see those lasts years .. the dragon rod seems different while casting .. feels like bit soft .. .

  9. I been using the maddragons 3.25 for couple of years now .. I am planning to get two more rods sometime soon .. been doing lot of search on review hear and on google ...

what should i upgrade to - I want something that will last and work well with methods or large PVA .. +go over distance 100+ ..(I know technique plays a big role )

    I am on budget ..

    Used - Daiwa Longbow DF

    New Shimano Tribal Velocity

Used Century FS/SP/ARMLITE - i may get an old one on ebay - ?

new St Croix - wait until CCC they have 40% on 2rods ?

  10. I'm not sure of the law. I fish with two rods. But also my gf and my future son in law will be here. They don't have rods of their own so we can say they are fishing ;) and get two more rods in the water.

u sure got some tricks - I will then bring someone along for a rod .. :D . what bait u use ..? sweet corn - flavored jumbo corn ?

how close or far we to fish ? close 10-20 yards out ..?
