How heavily fished is the area? That's has the potential to change the answers you get dramaticlly.

the area sees little to no pressure. and id imagine no one chasing carp. how does this effect answers?

I went down today and baited a bit also tossed a line out, but it was frigid.

I have access to a gravel pit that has what seems to be a decent head of carp but am unsure how to go about attacking such a big, deep water. I know others have attempted to catch these carp to no avail. Any pointers? thanks guys.

[Crosscast vs windcast]

I have the Crosscast x 5500s and love them. I've only been out a few times with them but a big upgrade from my daiwa regal plus bait runners. I enjoy the quick drag over the bait runner.

A few weeks ago I went out for the first outing of the year and ended up with the first carp of the year and my first ever snow carp.

She was a little beat up as she only had one eye and a big gash on her side. But I will take it. She fell to a 15mm Dynamite Robin Red Pop-up with a panko pva bag. Surely there are plenty bigger, but it was nice to get the first of the year.
