Just save your license as a pdf file. Then print it. That way no need to ever ask for it again and then email the file to yourself. You'll always have it with you.

I use these rods, they work great for carp. They also have a cork handle like you wished.

Arbitrary or not it has to be Cyprinus carpio and none of the other ~3269 members of the Family Cyprinidae to qualify for the CAG Big 4.

However, if you happen to catch some impressive examples of other species I have no doubt that other folks on the Forum would enjoy seeing pics of your captures.

What the rules actually are wasn't in question.
Haven't managed anything else on a fly rod yet, we'll see.

I was assuming there was some sort of a practical reason, rather than just an arbitrary taxonomic classification. Like, buffalo are on average bigger, but not as well distributed across the US so people without access to buffalo are at a disadvantage. That kind of a reason.
As an example, your examples of not carp can (and are) considered to be carp, as they are all of the family Cyprinidae, which literally means, "carp".

Because grass carp are actually white amur, not real carp. Only cyprinius carpio count for the purpose of the event to keep things even. Same reason buffalo do not count.
I'm aware they aren't "real" carp. Still doesn't answer the question really.

I fished the Fox River from midnight till 11am, no fish. Wind and cold were brutal!

Finally got a grass carp on my fly rod. Not the 50 or 60 pound monsters I was chasing the last year, but hey it's a start. They are 10x harder to sneak up on than a common carp.
