  1. Iam a BIG fan of suckers.i use to spend alot of time fishing for them in

a small river near by.but the sizes were never nothing to write about.

i maybe had one that when about 3lbs and it was a white sucker.the red

horses were all pretty much small and ran about the same size as the jumbo

chubs!i always used corn and occasinally a worm for baits but you can catch

a few on bread too.i wish i had a good sized river near by to fish for suckers

in Feb/Mar as well as carp.

  2. that IS a serious deal.you wont find anything like that any place else

thats for sure.when i first started upgrading to English tackle, did so

over a period of time rods, reels, then pod,ect and it was ALL cheap stuff

but if i was to have purchased it all at once it would have cost a good

$400-$450 just for a basic 2 rod and full pod set up.you guys should grab one

or three for your kids while you can.

  3. i find that interesting that theres clealy big carp in Sweden.,but i have never heard

anything about them.i never hear about Uk anglers or any anglers beeting feet

to take trip up there.its always France,or Spain, ect that they choose to spend

their time.i cant help but think these waters have very low pressure compared

to the rest of Europe?i alwyas thought the climate was too harsh in Sweden

(except the south) to have many carp.its good to know tht theres alot more

going for Sweden than justv some big pike..lol...thanks again for sharing the pics.

  4. South America IS the final frontieer!!!I hope you make a trip

down there sometime,Globe.from the reaserch i have done

on the subject(you have to really look for info)i have NO doubt

that you can find HUGE carp scattered all around SA.

Southern Brazil,Aregentina,Chile are good places to start looking

    if you ask me.

  5. i think carp move these little streams alot, and some nice sized carp

take a stroll up them as well.i once had a 25lb grass carp from a stream

half the size of the one your fishing.i think they venture out of lakes or larger

creeks/rivers into these small waters alot when the water gets high.theres

alot of food up i these areas(musssles, crays, and about anything that falls

off the overhanging trees).sometimes these carp get too curious and spend

too much time up these streams while the water is high, and end up getting

stuck in the shallows because water has whent back down on them :D

  6. Brian, i experienced something identical to what you discribed.the

float just disapeared :D wtf???? and the line started going out.i thought maybe a muskie or something grabbed the float, but when i got it back there were no teeth marks in the float.the case remains unsolved :D
