    Hi my real name is Dale

    I've been fishing for carp off and on since 1965 ,pay lakes and rivers early.

    I learned from an older man from one of the southern states, his kids didn't like to go and my folks worked all the time.

    I have also eaten them , his wife was a wonderfull cook. Still remember carp on Sat nights. :P

    I usually am a little quiet on the bankside till I get to know you then its no holds barred. :)

    I love river fishing. But mostly like the social part of fishing. :)

    My daughter is also a carp fisher.

    See you on the bank sometime.

    Oh yea! I'm like most indy carpers we think we know more than we realy do just ask us. :D

    This one hasn't been around for a while.

    I fish with my handles on the Left side holding rods with right hand.

    Is this right or wrong?

    Also for those without opinion, and for those that fish with open face, can the handles on open faced reels be changed from side to side

    Use of the KD Rig

    I had a very nice session here in Indy over the weekend.

    The problem or lack of, is I am useing the KD style rig ,and the hook up rate was about 99% the problem is that all hook-up were in the upper lip? Does anyone know what the problem is . The rigs were tied with snakeskin with 4inc peal off and total lenth 8inch with an #6 korda curve shank. Don't like hooking in upper lip as this lip seems a lot harder?

    Not real good at telling stories.. But I'll try to tell this one

    Myself and some good buds went to Minniss lake in lower Ontairo Can in 04

    We had fished all morning and went back to the cabin to eat pbj's and nap we were sitting and telling fishing storys.

    When it got very dark in the cabin. We looked up to see a North woods black or brown bear that had come up on the porch. The window in the cabin was at least 4x6 the bear covered most of it.. I have been up there before and seen bears from a long way off 200 to 300 yds.. nothing this big ever.. The bear went to the back of the cabin, and one of the group headed out the front and down to a boat and was 100 yds out going back and fourth in the lake in under 15 sec.. The bear went away after about 1 hr he had three grown men traped for the time..

    Later we went out to look around and found where he had taken a crap it was unreal it was put down like cord wood three lumps high.. incriduble...and stacked neetly.. The group before us had put fish guts in a box with garbage.. in the paper box pile for starting fires..We spent an hour or so burning trash and the mess... Later on that summer the bear had gotten more agressive and was shot.. Our outfitter said it was the biggest bear he had seen in thirty years in the bush.. One of our group is about 6' 6' tall and we measured with him and the bear was bigger..

    very very scary stuff..
