  1. Dang, not really a flyfisherman. I seen an event here in CO and got all giddy. I'm really looking for an excuse to try to get together some people here in CO and wet some lines heh.

Okie, are you just a fly guy or do you bait fish as well? Not many carpers here in CO and would really like to learn a thing or twelve from someone :)

I'm a fly carp dude in the making. Caught 1 so far on a fly rod. I've spent a bit of time fishing for carp(just not this year!)

I'm not sure where when I'll be fishing, but I'm heading that way in the next 24 hours. Andrew G is sorting something out for us to wet a hook or two. If you know how to get hold of the CO state chair give him a call or email and come join us.

  2. Carp Slam

    McT,

See you there! I'm just going to check the event out and have an excuse to fish! :)

If I think I can catch I may enter the Sunday event? Tim hasn't clarified the rules for me yet...

I have entered Shawn our BCT Fly Fishing Guru for the Pro-Am.

Look forward to meeting you in person.

  3. I didn't think I was going to be able to attend this year, but at the last minute it came together. Looking forward to it. Hope to see some fellow CAG members there.

Shawn C(The Fly Fishing Carp Dude) that helps out at BCT will be be entered in the event representing us Okies.

Going to do a couple of days sessions with Andrew G the CAG state chair prior to the carp slam also.

Maybe I'll get lucky and get that CO 30.. :)

  4. Definitily a privledge knowing him. On a visit to OK I had a couple of pics of him.

It still amazes me how he was CAG President for 9 years..

    RIP Bud.

One is of him doing what we all love doing. Anticipation of the next run. Number two was his PB(at the time) just over 30lbs.

  5. Hominy looks to have 10 pairs this year.

We cleaned a few new pegs yesterday. Tried to post them on the photo gallery "SC Peg Locations" but a couple didn't come through quite right. We'll update that once the peg draw happens.

We changed the peg draw procedure this year slightly.

-We'll draw for order of the peg draw as before.

-Each pair member will draw a peg and then have 15 seconds to decide which peg to fish. The peg not chosen goes back in the draw. Last draw will have 3 pegs to choose from at this event.

Will someone toss the winnning peg back? :)

Keep an eye on the gallery for photos and the CARP TS Leader Board and/or forum for updates. You can sign up to receive text messages with periodic updates if you want also. I'll do my best to get on here and update also.

BBQ at BCT Sunday evening 4/5pm to 8/9pm

Peg draw 8/9am Monday morning. We'll start fishing 12-2 (depends how much time pairs think they will need to get set up in boat in swims) and wrap up 9 am Saturday morning.

Now lets just hope the fishing and weather cooperates. Six quality events have been held on this venue and the same peg has yet to repeat as the "winning peg". Will this be the first year?

  6. I like Noddyberg and I's chances to be the first repeat Champs! :D Secret bait from England is scheduled to be delivered at RRI in the morning. :)

Arriving into town around lunch time myself tomorrow Looking forward to it!
