Congrats Santosh. It's always exciting when a well planned trip comes together. Todd is a great guy, nice to see him on the bank again.

Just passing on the info -Ohio Passport To Fishing Instructor Training in JanuaryDecember 7, 2012Columbus, OH - The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), Division of Wildlife would like to invite any adult, group, or conservation club who has a sincere interest in taking kids fishing to become a certified Passport to Fishing Instructor. A free workshop is available on Wednesday January 9, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and will take place at Wildlife District One, 1500 Dublin Road, Columbus Ohio.
Passport to Fishing is a one-day instructor training program that qualifies individuals to become Division of Wildlife certified fishing instructors, similar to a hunter education instructor.
Passport to Fishing was developed by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and adopted by the Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation. Workshops teach volunteers the basics of fishing and how to run a four-station fishing program with a fishing event. These instructors then go back to their communities, with a written curriculum and training aids, to teach youngsters and beginning anglers the basics of fishing.
By becoming a certified instructor, you will not only be able to help in reconnecting students with the outdoors, but you will also have the skills and resources to help you do it in a more successful way. Resources available include grants, equipment, brochures, and training.
To register for a workshop, please call (614)644-3925. For additional class information, visit www.wildohio.com.Media Contact

Lakes I've found with mirrors Blackfoot ID & recently Box Butte in NE were both rotenoned. Now they have only mirrors? Be interesting to see if that happens in this lake, or not.

After waiting for this thread to play out. I actually worked in advisory role on getting some hooks Eagle Claw already produced that would work for carp anglers. I went over these options 3-4 years back when EC sponsored the same Hominy tournament Field & Stream covered. It takes these bigger companies a while to get things rolling Good news is they are looking at our growing market. Wouldn't surprise me if a 'carp' rod and reel combo for entry level anglers doesn't show up next.

Craig and Dean have both been "in the zone" fishing wise. Absolutely mind blowing fish they've caught. You can get more details at www.bigcarpnews.com on their captures.

Sweet looking carp! Congrats.

I'm sure BCT will offer the usual free delivery option for the ATC 30 days or so prior.
-
Looking forward to it Neil. Thaks for all you do for CAG and the ATC event.
-
Good for you Chris. You definitely have a great attitude.

-
Brian Nordberg and I plan on being there.
-
Nice one Vinny
-
Well done John. You live in an area that has so much potential it's mind blowing.
-
Ross said he planned on holding it there for a few years last time I spoke with him. Not sure on the exact dates for'13.
-
nice mirra. well done.

Thanks everyone. It's a place to plan a trip and spend 3-4 days. Very laid back and relaxing. The carp went 4 for 4 mirrors and were pristeen.
The carp in the video had been sacked for about 3-4 hours and was a bit green.Lol Had a 18-12 that escaped from the sack by tearing out the corner just as I picked up the sack to get a pic.

I recently made a quick trip to a lake I mentioned a couple of weeks ago so I'm spilling the beans as promised now. Box Butte Res is a great venue for carp anglers and I'm sure it has bigger carp than I caught. Met up with my old buddy Jim West from MN and Andrew Green from CO and depsite the ridiculous heat had a good time. Locals were extremely nice and very helpful.
Hope to do a follow up trip next spring and dont be surprised if this venue becomes a CTS tournament venue at some point.
After this I dropped down to Denver for the Carp Slam and if you can make that its always a good time.
-
Marcus,
I had planned to go fish it with AFBob this time, but life got in the way and Bob couldn't make it.
I'm planning on it again next year, so if anyone is interested in representing Team USA in Italy in '13 let me know.
I've done a few of these trips and can organize bait, shelters, rods, etc. so really all you need to bring is clothes, terminal tackle and reels.
I've done Romania twice and France twice and it was an incredible expereince every time I've gone overseas to compete and represent the USA.
