Yes, Andy and Mario posted details of the financial challenges we were facing early in the spring. This was followed by a number of initiatives to raise funds and/or reduce expenses. When you bid for a sack of tiger nuts back at the start of February you would, had your bid been successful, have been contributing to one such initiative.

First of all it is not spring yet. Give me a link to that post. Did they specify the club was broke. This club would not be in financial trouble if it was not for the glossy magazine that the Pres., Vice Pres. and Board of Directors want to hold onto. You have to get rid of costly expenses if you want this club to stay in the black and use the extra money to make this club grow. A glossy magazine does not make a club.

  4. It is going to be great to see the CCC back in Chicago. Has any of the basics been worked out yet? Social get together before the event, Friday casual fishing locations, lodging, annual meeting location, and awards banquet location? It is really going to be a wonderful time seeing all of the great anglers that show up for the Chicago event. I have a suggestion for a tee shirt for this great occasion. I believe this event should be called The Chicago Carp Classic Bud Yancey Memorial to honor CAG's founding father Bud Yancey. As I am sure most of the North American carp anglers know that last year Bud passed away. If it wasn't for Bud we would not of had this great organization. Fish-On Bill

  5. Hey Larry I see there is approx. 18 teams planning on fishing. If all teams enter could you please give the payouts as based on an 18 team field? In your early posting you had amounts with 1 team entered.

(Cash Prize pool was at $1,500 for this event with no-one entered. As each team enters the prize amount will go up.

and there are prize sponsorships already coming in.

    1st place $660

    2nd place $330

    3rd Place $245

    4th place $165

    5th place $85

  6. It is a very sad time in the carp community. I have spent many days over the years with Bud on the bank. Bud always enjoyed more time talking about carp fishing than he actually did fishing. I do not believe anyone had more of a passion for the sport than Bud. When Bud attended a lot of fishing shows Illinois had a membership of more than 350 members. He always had away of getting people excited about carp and joining CAG. Fish-On Bill
