In-Fisherman has an excellent segment this week on bank fishing for carp with Doug Stange. He shows how to bait a hair rig and sings the praises of carp as a sport fish. They also catch several carp in the 20+ range. In-Fisherman has long been a supporter of carp fishing with magazine articles and TV segments. As close as I can figure they now have 3 different TV programs. This segment is on the program titled: In-Fisherman Specials. If it's like most of their programming, it should air 2 to 3 more times in the coming week. I thought it was a fun segment and thought I'd try to let the rest of you know about it. Carp fishing on television in the United States is as rare as... well... hmm.... pretty darn rare!
Infisherman was at the 2003 Austin Team Championship. Steve Hoffman was there and I can't remember the other guy with him.

I have several lakes and streams where mulberry trees hang over and drop berries. One lake has carp over 40 lbs. and the other has carp up to 30 lbs. and grass carp to 60 lbs. I am going to have some fun this next summer. Fish-On Bill

I have never taken a carp on the fly. I just got these mulberry flies in the mail today. I can not wait till mulberries come into season next year. Here is a pic of the flies. What do you guys think. Fish-On Bill

Hey Jim you need to enter that 33-8 in the big fish award. It would be leading for this new year at least in the Midwest. Of course that is until I put my time on the water this fall and go for another 40+. God job on the PB. The teeth marks are probably from one of the monster muskies in Lake Storey. Fish-On Bill

I would like to know why ACS is using our forum to try to track down stolen items from an ACS event. ACS is their own organization. They should be doing all of the bitching on their own site. I understand that they think someone that is on here can help them, but it was not stolen from a CAG event. Maybe they should try BASS, Muskies Inc., or any other fishing organization. Who said they were strictly carp anglers. Fish-On Bill

Really great show on flyfishing for carp. Walkers Cay Chronicles was the program and devoted the entire 1/2 hour show to carp. They were fishing in Ohio. The fly they were using was a mullberry. They had nothing but respect for the carp as a great sportfish. Bill

It sure is a funny thing about Royal Carp. After being chosen as a Royal Carp Team member it sure has been a JOKE. Does Keith own the company or Alexander? Or is it two peas in a pod. As a team member you were getting entries into all of the top tournaments, that did not happen. Then Keith Tompson stated bring plenty of room to Austin for bait and tackle, and that did not happen. I did receive 7 kilos of boiles and 2 kilos of pellets for the year to promote Royal Carp and I can tell every one DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. You can quote me as saying invest your money in bait in Mistrail or The Boilie Shop if you ant to catch trophy carp.After being associated with this company it is a total ripoff. Of course Brian and Phone caught carp in the ATC, but you have to remember the fish were there and canned corn would of caught them. In the 2003 ATC me and my partner caught 14 fish. the total weight was 252 lbs. and all we used was Partridge Corn dipped in Mainline tuttifruity flavor with a method feeder. There is a lot better on the market than Royal Carp . My choices would be Mistrail, The Boilie Shop. and do not forget Mainline from Wacker Baits. Bill Hodge IL Chairman and 2004 CCC Organizer

You will find one sentence missing from the above post. I removed it because (as I see it) it was a direct attack on another member which is not tolerated. As for the rest, it is your opinion of a commercial company and this type of commentary has always been allowed to my knowledge.

Hey Dave you posted a great question. The carp I caught today made 59 consecutive months of landing a carp. I believe Paul Pezalla is well over 3 years himself. Just remember we live in northern Illinois and do not count fish caught in a warm state. Fish-On Bill

Hey Brian, the Joliet Boyz are definately coming back to the ATC in 2004. Just waiting to get a confirmed address to send entry fee. If I can get my Bivvy B**** to catch more fish we can have a good shot at winning it or atleast finishing better than 5th. Hoping to see everyone again in 04. Just because there is rules banning certain things why do people have to complain about them? Everyone is fishing under the rules.
