  4. Me and Chad B. are planning to fish Heideke Lake on Saturday June 6, 2015. This is just a social event if anyone wants to attend. We will be fishing the walk-In bank fishing area. This is the only designated bank fishing area on the lake. We will be fishing from 6 A.M. to 6 P.M. Have not fished this water in along time. This was a pre CCC fishing venue for the 2002 CCC. The DNR has shocked up 40 plus commons and 60 plus small mouth buffalo. Come on out and enjoy a day of carping. Fish-On Bill

  5. Me and Chad B. arrived at Johnson Sauk Trail around 11:15 A.M. Friday morning. When we got there Frank R. and Chris R. was already setup. Noon rolled around and the Challenge was on. Frank had a quick carp in the net. Now the next carp was worth $50 donated by Larry S. Frank had the second carp on only to lose it. So Frank stated that since he lost it who ever of the 3 of us that got the next carp got the $50. Chris was the winner with a really nice 21 lb. even. Frank left around 7 P.M. and was not returning for the rest of the event. His big 3 was 55 lbs 15 ozs. Chris left around 8 P.M. and headed into Kewanee to his hotel room. He was returning at 5:30 A.M. So me and Chad were left for the night bite. The weather forecast for the event was always talking about the possibility of thunderstorms. We only had 5 minutes of a light shower for the entire 48 hours of competition. The final tally was Bill H. Gold 61-15 Frank R. 55-15 Silver and Chad B. 55-5 Bronze. Chris was 45-5 just finishing out of Bronze. We all had a fantastic time and the carpers that did not show up because of the forecast missed a fantastic carping time. Cory B. Arrived Sunday morning with his son Boo and Boo pulled in a new PB of 23-2 lbs. All in all a total of 620 lbs. of carp were caught. There was 7 carp over 20 lbs. each landed. Fish-On Bill

  6. Johnson Sauk Trail Challenge will be from Noon Friday May 15th till Noon Sunday May 17th. This is a big 3 event. I have Gold, Silver and Bronze medals for the event. There will be a bankside cookout on Saturday. If you want to bring something to donate to the cookout that will be appreciated. If you are going to fish all night you have to pay for a campsite ($8 per night) you can double up or triple up on the campsite. You do not have to fish the entire event to have a chance to win a medal. I will keep all weights until the end of the event and if you earn a medal I will mail it to you. We prefished this venue over 2 different days with an average of 3 anglers each day and the venue produced 28 carp with a total weight of close to 400 pounds for an average of 14.25 average per carp.
