  1. I really don't believe the draw down of the lake will have a negative effect on the bite. If anything it should help. The lake is being drawn down at a slow rate. So it is equivalent to a slow stream. So when chumming you will get a scent line in the lake to bring carp to your area. I should be arriving there in about 36 hours. That would be 24 hours before the event starts. That way I can scout out the swims and get some chum in those swims. If you are planning to attend let me know so I will only chum the number of swims of those that are attending. If only planning on arriving on Friday or Saturday that is OK also. You do not have to fish the entire event to be eligible for the medals supplied by CAG (Thanks CAG) Fish-On Bill

  2. The spoding contest will be a marker put out at a fairly long distance. You will get 2 casts. We are going to use a floating ring. Any one putting the spod in the ring will be considered a tie and there will be a 1 cast cast off. We will move the target. We will use my spod rod and spod. Fish-On Bill

  3. There will be 2 prize packages and they will be 1 for the CAG member who travels the farthest ( determined by driving directions from my phone and will be given out at 11:00 P.M. Friday ) and 1 prize package for a spoding contest on Saturday. Forecast is calling for rain on Thursday only. Fish-On Bill

  4. Hey Bob we will actually be fishing out of the campground. The campground is on South Lake Storey Road. The lake is being drawn down. The website says camping $14 per night but if you have 4 or more campsites and nonprofit organization it will be $8. You will be able to bivvy up at waters edge. Fish-On Bill

  5. It is just 2 weeks to this event. If you are planning on attending please post on here. I would like to get an idea so I know how many swims to chum when I get there on Tues. Sept. 30th. If we have at least 4 camp sites we can get a discount on camping for being a nonprofit organization. It would be $8 a nite instead of $14 a nite. Fish-On Bill

  6. I will be arriving on Tuesday Sept. 30th. Will be chumming swims for the number of anglers who are attending. When you arrive you can pick your swim. We will have a boat for chumming on Wed. Oct. 1st till the end of the event. Camping is $14 per night per site. If we get 10 or more people or 4 or more sites we can get a site for $8 per-night for CAG being a non-profit organization. Just remember you have to be a CAG member to be eligible for medals. 1 set for big carp and 2nd set for big 4. Only 1 medal per angler per set of medals. We usually catch some nice channel cats during carping so I ask that you save the ones you catch for a fish-fry on Saturday. Fish-On Bill

  7. Galesburg Illinois Lake Storey Oct. 1st @Noon till Oct. 5th @ Noon. Camping $14 per night with 2 tents per site. This time of year lake is drawn down and reveals new shore line to bivvy up on. Lake is known for 30 lb. plus carp. More info to follow. Fish-On Bill
