Jerome,
Thanks much.
It seemed that the 'muncher' often had the bait in its mouth for several seconds before rejecting.
Was wondering how a very short hooklength (2-4 inches) would work in that situation ?
Your videos always make us think!

well i got the fever and couldn't help it... i called into work and hit the river, the rain was pouring off and on but i was out there... about an hour after i put my baits in the water beep beep beeeeeeeeeeep, only to loose it to a tree laying in the river... thirty minutes later beep beeeep, and i actually brought it in 12.8 common... i tried to unhook it, i tried to get it out of the net the darn thing just did not want to cooperate at all... i think it was one of those commons that hit the hemp seed to much... lol
i lost three more to the tree, it started raining harder so i just came home... but i am planning to go to cammack sunday...
Good stuff, Whidd. It looks as if they are finally on the prod. Love those rainy days.
Will you guys be making the trip to Falls tomorrow? --- I will have some nice NC Mirror photos to irritate you with if so......
-
Nice photos, guys. Pleased you had a couple of fish. Sorry I didn't make it over -- yard work and the Saturday Football waylaid me... see you all next weekend at Falls, I hope.

Agree with the plaudits - better and better indeed.
I thought the Hector Sara pioneering article was 'terrific' (to steal a phase from a certain much loved Premier League football manager)... he's inspiring me to keep in searching for our own version of that 'special lake'

Welldone you guys for catching one! We didn't ! (lol)
-
Lovely fish, Zoomie.
Interesting looking tail on that, too.
You'll need to engage CIA assistance to avid being tailed next time you go
-
Great report, Joe.
Come back and see us in NC when it gets warmer. Sure we can find a fish or two.

That Lake Fork 34-4 Mirror is one lovely fish!
-
Hi Danny - nice pics.
.............And I was dreaming that the river might produce - 'cos the local lakes definitely would not have today.
It looked as if it was still coloured when I drove across on 54 today - did you see anything at all?

Nice one, Horace.
Those Koi can be devils to get on the hook......... and land

Wonderful video --- I thought he was pulling on that fish a bit hard!!!
I'll stick with me Bonefish and a nice little 8wt I think
So these nutters say they are my teachers. I say they are the beginning of the end. Bunch of wackos me think..The video shows Luis with his biggest tarpon up to day. Ruso actually guided a client recently to a 200+ .
Can't wait for summer...

A fascinating insight - as always....

That's a huge Red Drum (as we call them up here).
Do you ever chuck fluff at 'em ?
- fantastic fishing you have down there....
-
Good stuff....

Nice shaped fish for the 'Beach' danny - those carp must be getting their fall feeding done. Well done!
Those bowfin are ugly critters, aren't they?
-
I enjoyed watching that - good work, guys
-
Look as though you renegades had a fine time. Well done, all of you!
-
You poor old sods - pain and suffering at an international level!
Thanks for posting the evidence, Tom. And well done for catching a FISH
-
Nice flathead, Axel. Bet that tugged a bit!
-
Great stuff, Rachel. Keep the trip reports coming, you're doing a fine job in describing it all.
-
That was a bloody great shark, Lee. Nurse or not - a cracking fight that you will remember for a long time, I'll bet.
Thaks for sharing.
-
Mario Kok, congratulations on some magnificent (and chunky) fish, and for the approach & environmental respect you all demonstrate towards the Lioness and its inhabitants. I wish you well on your future explorations........
-
Just an 8, never uses anything heavier for carp. For tarpon they go to 12 in Cancun.
He must know how to pull on them with that 8 - perhaps the tarpon fishing educated him .
I've take 40 mins to pull in big bonefish on 8wts, can't imagine what a 30+ mirror would take. Respect, Luis!!!!

I just saw this ---- Radar lake is now RSPB, I am told. AND the Mid-Kent Fisheries team netted the lake last year; took -allegedly- 9X30+ fish to - allegedly 'Stow - where they all - allegedly - died within 3 months. Another Kent water ruined.
The 2 biggest fish were well dead by that time ( the common turned up dead -my mate saw it in the edge -, next biggest died on the bank.
And I thought this place used to be sort of ' low key'.................!
