  1. I use both (soaked and cooked) in my mix, along with other sized particles (pigeon mix, maples etc) . They perform different purposes. The cracked corn will get them digging around, and hopefully eating the larger particles, such as maize. Depends what you are trying to achieve I suppose...
  2. I would like to participate in CAG's FFF 2019! Your name: Tim Marshall Your CAG forum name: UKTim Your state or province of residence: NC The state or province of your FFF 2019 fishing venue, if it differs from your residence:
  3. Just seen this. I strongly suspect we are now well connected on the Crabtree FB page. If not, do message me 919360-9747 Tim
  4. Agree, another great video by the young English lads, and I was so pleased how well the Pass brothers handled those 'tricky' southern day ticket lakes. Some packbait skills on display too! And a home 30 at the end, brilliant.
  5. Hi Mark, I've listened to, and enjoyed most of the first 8. Particularly likely the Hughes and Holmes sessions. Much to learn there, even for a very old school carper. Some even translates to our fishing over here!! Hope you get the support to continue for a long time.
  6. Hi Eric. Most of our known carp fishing in NC is Raleigh and west. But we know there are carp in the tidal waters close to Jacksonville. The Neuse and Cape Fear river systems definitely contain a good stock. Let us know if you head west in NC and we'd be happy to share what we know. Do let us know what you find down there...
  7. Thanks a lot for these e-zine pointers! I had subscribed to Advanced Carp Fishing (via Pocketmags) for 2012. Have to admit that for me, the format was challenging to read (Windows Laptop user) and have about 6 months worth not touched. I have resubscribed to hard copy Carpworld for 2013 (arm-and-leg, yes) and just received January (they had some distribution issues, apparently). I'll certainly test drive someof these on Kindle too.... Does anyone else feel that the tactics & bail approaches described for much UK pressured-carp fishing does not translate for them for wildwater US fish? e.g. certainly around here, the obsession with fishmeal based boilies is challenging because of our lovely local bullhead catfish
  8. Lovely and interesting looking fish. More, please!
  9. Lovely looking spots. The boats do find them....!
  10. A monster...... what a fish. These rivers........ what else is in them?
  11. Well done! Looking forward to see what you catch next......
  12. Pawel ..... this marvellous catch gives us all hope that these fish exist in yet more places. Sincere Congrats to you.. and to Matt for the pioneering work. A wonderful Feb fish too.
  13. I had about 8 grassers on carp tackle last summer.. all between 20 and 36. Not one fought remotely well. All in the net within 2 minutes at the most. I was not surprised......... a 20+ common is an entirely better fighter in my experience...
  14. Sometimes the decisions are simple. There will other ATC's, Willem, but possibly never another chance like this one..

The same Mid january 2012 weekend. Even though the water temperature had fallen 1.5 degrees overnight, this one at 26-15 was rapidly followed by a 20-02. Winter carp fishing has ot's own beauty and the fish are usually in fine condition.

Cold wind blowing in my face, 45 degrees water temp and a 27-8 made me happy when it rattled off at 1p.

Still my biggest fish from this lake at a spawned-out weight of 30-4.

Post spawn 26-11 in a big catch memorial weekend.

My best US mirror to date. One run at 9am aftera long wet March night boat session.
  22. Great, Captain. & you've found a musician, indeed. Nice stuff, Mr Legaspi.
  23. Good session, Rod, well done to all of you
  24. Did that one come off the TN side, John?
  25. What a year, Scott. My sincere congratutations to an amazing big fish angler. I do echo the sentiment earlier in the thread -- maybe we'll see that 40 down here in NC before I die, too!
