Add me to the list for the may 5th event.

Congrats to the winners, during the month of january and the start of february. I was out twice last month(FFF& WCCL on the 29th), so didnt have much of a chance to hang with you hardcore winter anglers I'm sure I will run into all of you during the spring and summer at the usual competitve events
-
Larry, count me in on this one.
-
Just so you know, the area where the carpomania event in lemont is held every year is now fenced off. I'm not sure if they will move the event this year or just have contestants hop the 6ft+ FENCE If someone plans on fishing that event im sure they could just call the canal street Pub in lemont and ask for details.

The forecast calls for a high in the mid-30s at Joliet on 1/1/12, so we expect you there, Larry.
Larry also provides great protection from New Year criminals.

From my understanding if mirek shows, he gets first choice because he had 0 points the prior session...Is this correct? We could have this question arrise if jacob and dj show for the 2nd session of group D this sunday.
Would those two anglers flip a coin to see who picks 1st? Jacob and Dj were both no shows and both have 0 points from the 1st session of group D. If thats not the case then Rafael gets to pick his peg and the other four of us go into the draw bag.
Frank, youre hoping mirek's out so you can pick peg #1
Anglers not showing, that are still in the running, is the main reason I feel the point system isn't the best way to determine the events. Once a single angler misses a day it changes the whole ballgame. Allthough the point system does work good for the possibility of different conditions from week to week.

Yes I can. I will call jacob tomorrow to verify if he is fishing sunday or not.

I believe it's been three years (the 2009 FFF) since the Joliet venue was any good for the FFF. In 2010, Mike caught the first nationwide FFF carp, but that would be the only fish caught among all of us for the entire day. In 2011, it was worse. I believe we all blanked on January 1 at Joliet. Although it was cold in 2010 and 2011, we had blizzard-like conditions and knee-high snow at the 2009 FFF; yet, 2009 at Joliet was our best bite in the last three years. Go figure!
Mike O. with 12:06 a.m. carp on 1/1/10
If I remember it was -20 that night and dennis was passed out in my jeep. That was the night larry jumped out of his car with a blunt object , to protect you from the hoodlums

I might even go so far as to chum Jackson Street and the area around pegs 3 and 4 at Bum Park for several days prior to 1/1/12. I plan to start at Jackson at 11:00 just to see if there is a chance for a catch at 12:00. If I blank there before midnight, it's off to Bicentennial Park. However, I doubt that I'm willing to fish alone in Joliet in the middle of the night, especially on New Year's Day. If anyone is considering fishing the FFF at Joliet, let me know. Thanks.--Frank
Frank, Im in for the FFF this year. Last Year I made plans with heidi to hit the casino, which is why I just stopped by. I will help with chumming also.

Yep different day but same slow results, only reason i went back was to fish the huge bed of bait bogdan left when we where done, yesterday. It hasn't made a difference 3 fish in 3 hours isnt to good for joliet and its starting to snow. Im out of here by 1100

Rain,work and those dam deer
-
Not a bad payout considering only 10 showed, dam rain must have scared them away I guess they didnt miss nothing

NIce fish. Giant dinosaur

I can see where this is heading. I'm out! Hope to catch up with some of you over the cold months and share some bank time. Good luck to everyone!
Heading! I guess a few of You misread. The event was cancelled unless someone else steps up.

Nope, this is not a job and not worth dealing with it...guys dont want to fish in the rain, guys dont like the peg layout, possibly not being able to give spouses exact home times etc etc. Since I cannot guarantee or calculate these times or accomdate people scared of rain or having to walk to a peg. I'm going to withdraw from running the event.
I will particpate REGARDLESS of peg draw, rain or whatever. I will bring larrys gift certs, if no one steps up I will return them to larry.

Its a carp fishing event not life or death so if you have to stay 15- 30 mintues later because i mark the pegs before the event, which will mean you cant give a spouse a exact home time...I think you better run it then. Ill turn the reigns to you as usual. Just like before this aint work dude, ill be there saturday but wont be organizing it. So if someone else or you dont step up I guess theres no turkey event.

People are driving 100 miles and might like to let spouses know when to expect them back. You can mark your original 20 pegs and always eliminate some once you see how many anglers there are, rather than holding things up. But, it's your show and your call.
Its the journey not the little details I worry about

I just recieved a phone call from one of the local anglers that was out of town the last week or so. Because he didnt see the info about the event and he usually fishes 95% of all the other events that take place, I am going to extend the field to 18 anglers which mean the peg assigments will change again. Instead of posting and reposting the pegs. I will figure the pegs on the morning of the 26th when I have a headcount.
Welcome Ioan Jacob to the list on the 26th

Yeah, this would be great. Didnt WCCL have 25+ anglers that commited early last yr? I think only like 10-12 anglers ended up fishing, maybe this year more will partcipate.
