I've wondered that also, what the look at the camera the fish sure as hell don't care! It just wants back into the water.
I'm sure some from our expert fish photo panel here will have some explanation ??
Maybe just a little lick as if to say thanks ole carp your truly special to me, when the shutters opens ? you know kind of like the bass guys kissing there bass.
Dean
Just something about lifting that fish up I just could bring my self to take my eyes off it

A quick note on a earlyer thread that I started, I know understand why people look at the fish and not the cammara

Zach
there are people here who would kill their grandmothers in a pact with the devil to catch Commons like those.
Anyway, excuse me for now. I have to draw some blood and visit a retirement home....
that is AWSOME LMFAO, sod if you ever make it to the states I would love to share some bank with ya, just bring plenty of smokes as i tend to steal them

Brian,Henceforth three fish caught at the same time shall be known as a "trifecta".
I can tell you don't go to the horse races very often
A Trifecta is a bet, where you have to pick the first three horses to finish...... I've never heard it in connection with darts although I must admit to not having played in years......
3 darts in the same Pie Trifecta or bed both are common on our leauge, didnt really mean to use it, just kinda came out as in $*** a trifecta never done that before

thanks Brian great time for sure....and then there is next weekend

Great photos and a great fish. Thhose photos make me want to make thatg long drive down to Town Lake. That fish is a perfect specimen. Its hopes of catching a fish like that that keep people like me fishing!
On a side note, and some may disagree, what about seeing if the State of Texas would put a large carp such as that in the aquarium that contains the 121 lb world record blue catfish. I think it would give the carp some much needed good publicity.
much like Clerissa sp? there is a Bass Pro Shop near my house and there is a Mid 20 in there every time I there people are always trying to figure out what it is and I end up giving a impromtu demo on carp fishing as long as our state took the same care with the carp to study it and return it in the same condion and water as they are doing with the cat I think that it could be a good thing

I have had the pleasure of these rods first hand, they where the heavy light combination, I have rods that are built on sportex blanks now that are 2.75 TC the ACS rods in low 3 TC where thinner and more sensitive then the 2.75 ones that I own <shrug> I think the Sportex blanks are IM-9 graphite to give you and idea of what I was comparing to. the ACS rod blanks are something else....the rods are AMAZING no speculation I have seen them, I certainly don’t think they where put together with spare parts
-
yes there was some spods flying at the boats, mostly because they didnt think we could cast that far I would give them a warning shot before aiming right at them but after that they where far game I have decieded to get a Air Horn to use as a bass deterent

David M. and I set out to fish a new water in TX this weekend we met firday found a great swim it was on a point of a quite cove with a drop off at about 60 yards where the old river bed ran through and a sumerged weed line at about 30 yards we where set up by 7:00 in the evening got our swims baited out out bivvys and bed chairs set up, it was perfect, tons of empty muscle shells all over the bank I mean a sick amount it looked like gravel they where so thick and tone of crunch up creyfish parts as well all the signs where there.....we got some dinner to go fromm a little diner that was with in walking distance of our swim grabbed brians copy of Carp Fever that he is let'n me read put me feet up and watched a beutiful sunset nothing could be more right, it got to dark to read david and I sat up talking about water and weather and he anwser'd my many questions on bait, tackle and the D-rig we crashed out around ll:30 and I slept like a baby that is untile about 7:00 am when I heard some one talking over a loud speaker I rolled out of the bivvy and to my dismay there where 75 bass boats in the middle of my swim I know there where 75 of them because I listen as the man on the loud speaker counted them all down boat one come get your live well check'd ok good luck go! boat 2 come get your live well checked ok good luck go......and so on right down to number 75 I was in shock this would have been the greats photo of "going to sleep in carp heaven and waking up in Bass hell" didnt think of that until it was to late there was apperntly a large bass tourney that also thought that this looked like a good place to fish as well........we ended up with 3 runs 1 straiten'd hook and one pulled hook and one missed run it was a great time all in all I think that this water will have some lumps come out of it on the final night there we got a vist from a really nice DNR guy who said that 30's in there are common and he turned us on to some new areas to try I think that a 2nd trip is in my near futare =Z=
