really the gar pic if you figure that the saw horses are 2.5 to 3 feet high that would put the gar a bit over 10'

Byter - The B/W photo of the aligator gar is a well known photo, and also a well known fake photo. The fish is indeed a gar, and aligator gar do sometimes reach extreme lengths and weights, but the one actually shown in this photo was made to look far larger than it was, simply by the cameraman asking the person in the photo to position himself many yards behind the actual fish. The lens aperture was then stopped down to about f/16 or f/22 to keep everything fairly well in the depth of field plane.

Photos similar to this were made quite extensively during the early days of black & white photography. The most often-used subject of 'fake' photos is the Northern pike.

I would still say that its at least a 10' long fish?? you think....

real its a aligator gar from LA. they get to over 300lbs and over 10 feet in length. even bigger ones where reported in the 50's from the missippi there is a kewl article written by a bioligest from LSU about the gator gar i will try to find it.

I have a motion detector with a alarm on it i have been thinking of rigging to a bank stick...oh on the boncing bettys are a nice touch around the swim, and some old WWII sea mines you know the ones that look like sputnik <sp?> for the bass boats that get to close.....

came from a lake i have had my eye on for some time a CRAZY ammount of muscles in it all the white in the photo is shells.......I think that there is some real potentail there for some LUMPS...... its in FAR east TX

first the reels where awsome they are from the forth coming ACS line I have a set of Tica bait runners that where 80$ a pop these look like they are the same model and was told that they would retail for much less then that. the pod was also somthing else it is built like a mac truck no doubt , if you are looking for a heavy duty well built pod when these come out they are worth a very close look, I fish a sod pod most of the time and prefered the way that this set up and fished over my sod pod not quite as compact but every bit the quality. and super stable the stainless butt rest where fine kit as well, cant wait till it takes off.......
