  1. Rich-thanks again for your continued support of CAG!!!! I know that those of us close to the club appreciate it so much!

Mark-Great job on the fish in, everyone had a great time of it by the sounds of it.

Daniel-Great job winning your first pin.

  2. Good points and you are certainly not alone in your thoughts on this topic. Don't put too much thought into it though. Don't let it bothe ya!

Just keep educating people as you come into contact with them with a non condescending attitude. Some will listen, some will not. But our sport is growing and more people are realizing the value of carp.

  3. Brendan:

To my favorite Michigan Carpers the Pass's! Way to go! Is that mirror bigger than your brother's personal best? You deserve it! You always seem to fish hard, way harder than I do.....................and you are now rewarded with a great fish!

PS-I think you are lying about the weight too! It looks way bigger than 21 lbs!:lol::lol::lol:

Again, congratulations. A fine fish for a fine young fisherman.

  4. Where are we meeting and at what time exactly. There is a 50/50 chance I'm going. Would be nice to go to my first fish-in and meet some people who are interested in the sport!

Mark Locey is hosting the fish in. He will probably be chiming in with the details on how he wants to organize it. Last year we met at Blue Bell Beach off of Bray Rd in Flint. For you Derds, you are going to go south on 75 to 475 South. Get off at Carpenter Rd exit, and turn left (heading east). Stay on Carpenter until you get to Bray. Turn left on Bray and go north until you get to Bluebell Beach park. (If we end up meeting there)

Heres a look at the area.

  5. Wow, sweet first post. Let me start out by saying welcome to CAG! You are in a good area for carp, with the Titabawassee River, and Saginaw River in your backyard! If you want to get together with some fellow carpers, look for the Flint River fish in thread for details on a CAG fishin that is going on this Saturday. If you need anything, my phone number and email are listed above, give me a shout and I can point you in the right direction.

It's great to see Michigan getting such enthusiastic young carpers!

  6. If your trying to convert people on Michigan Sportsmans forums, good luck. Any converts will come slowly, one at a time.

Mr. Fitzz, (Kev Abbott) did very well over there. His strategy from my observations was to post up fishing reports with lots of pics, and also his you tube videos. No one got more attention to carp then he did. He respected the anti's opinion's and refused to argue with them. Let them think what they may, and pic of new converts one at a time.

You may loose if trying to argue the anti's all at the same time, but even the anti's had good things to say for Kev because they couldn't deny his reports or pictures of both fish and gear. They were fascinated. Regardless of their opinion, they would give him his props because his passion for the sport came through his reports.

Before he took his break earlier this year, he was even mingling around the bow fishing section picking off people one at a time. I learned from that!!!!! We could all learn from that!

  7. Whats with you guys catching mirrors at ford?!?!? my only mirror on that lake was the first carp I caught at Ford, and since than (and several 100s of fish later) I have not seen a mirror come from that lake :P

What's up with name change anyway Santosh? :D

  8. Flint River is fishing well,

Jeff S. fished on Saturday and had loads of action :)

Yet another slammed week for me with work and it's my lil Maddie's B-day party this weekend.....so I remain in retirement a bit longer...

    Good luck to you buddy!!

Me too, my reels are gathering dust!

  9. 12 ft rod and bait runner reel $59.99

Jeff's bait and tackle in stock right now.

My money will go to the Little Dipper due to the fact that Rich has donated a ton of money to supporting our club! He has supported numerous fish ins with donated prizes, and been a real supporter. I would have a hard time plugging a store that has contributed nothing and would caution that us anglers show support to those who have supported us. That is the only way we can show our support, and get support in the future.

Since I've been around, resistance tackle, wacker baits, and the little dipper have been our supporters.
