Why not fish naturals? Hair rigged mussel clusters, crayfish? Coming off the spawn they'll be feeding heavily? Always an option. Good luck my friend, summer has always been a better time for me.

Rebel, as we fish the same river. My best, most productive time of year, even for bIg fish is July/August, in 5-7 feet of water, not generally fast moving but moving. But to be truthful you could also do well in 12-15 feet of fast moving water.

I've been stood-up bankside enough times to give me plenty of practice !
don't skimp on the net & be patient to avoid hook-pulls.
I just jump in the water and stab them into submission, lol just kidding... Chris and bucket nailed it!

Jay, owned a set and sold them very quickly. Very light and fast and smooth but as a negative, feel very chincy. Just mho, I'm superbly happy with the shimanos I upgraded to. The windcasts are good if you don't fish much or catch a lot of fish but I had a few 30's on them and I'm surprised they held up.

A. Pa out of state is around 52$ the price you pay for a 3 day is comparable, better off buying a year license. That's what I did.

3.5's all the Way for me!

Awesome Adam! Sussy carp are brawlers for sure! Nice job!

wow these are probably the coolest hooks I ever saw. They put a cover on the point and you get a choice in colors?!
I picked out size 4 korda kaptor kurvs in brown
No problem man! If I can figure out how to post pics using this new app I'll post up some pics for you to reference. The brown size fours are te chit! As are the fox ssc's, I'd be more prone to use the ssc's in weedy or snaggy water where camouflage is less important because i feel theyre a little stronger an the kaptors when I fish super clear, wide open water in the local gravel pits.

You absolutely do not need to use wide gap hooks for pop ups. I use the korda kaptor kurvs and fox ssc hooks with a multi rig for pop ups and I promise you if you think your hook holds are good, try this and you'll re think it. Deadliest rig and hook I've ever used
-
Do you feel that this rig is best suited for pop-ups or could it be used for bottom bait presentation, maize, chunk of range cube etc.
Would the small shot before the hook be neccesary in a bottom bait situation? Thanks for the rig picture
I've mainly been fishing it purely as a pop up rig, BUT, the biggest difference between a bottom, pop up, or critically balanced rig is hook position. Being that the rig is adjustable it suits itself well to many different baits. But I haven't tried anything else.

In this picture it was a fox arma point ssc size 4, 20# n trap soft, large Korda rig ring. I also very much like the korda kaptor kurvs.

obviously being from new York my exposure to buffs was limited to the short while i was in Texas. I caught 3 while there and 2 gave very similar indications to small carp, fast twitchy motions. The third and the biggest went from zero to 60 in about .8 seconds! The most violent take I've ever had. And the slime...I don't think I can say on here what it reminded me of.

I've found the multi rig with a kurv pattern to be the most effective an devistating rig I've ever seen. I recently had a 44 fish haul inside 24 hours and every single twich was hooked and landed. They simply could not eject this rig! I love the way that as soon as the point of the hook tenses the hook link the loop sinches up to the eye completely exposing the hook!

Haha I believe the scientific name is snowmeo sapien; cave dwelling, mindless carnivore. Lol to me being a "tart" is just about having gear that will last a long time and is well made. Not because it's expensive or pretty, they are just side effects quality=] no one sees it anyway lol. They are all just tools of the trade a mechanic uses snap on because they're the best, not because they're polished =]

Why don't you just order them from Johnson Ross? Faster shipping than any tackle shop located in the whole of north America and canadia. I have 2 of the ESP mega Paults and they're THE CHIT! Or you can get to your local medical supply shop and get some more elastic, I prefer tehe natural latex, lasts longer and doesn't dry as fast as others. One way to condition them is to rub a bar of hand soap on the elastic to keep it 'elasticky'

Not to mention the 50.....I'd kill to live near a tidal section of any river. Someday.

Nice one

Wow! God I need to get out more. Lovely fish!

I use "dangly" leads with clips most often, when I fish heavy weed or snags where the "drop the lead" thing Is supposed to be used, I've made my own leads, from creek stones drilled with ring swivels epoxied in. But realistically I've found you do not need to drop the lead often, but if you've ever wondered why you've lost fish in weed before its most likely due to the lead, or If youve lost fish in open water and your lead has moved way up the line, that's probably why. I also will cut a small notch in my tail rubber to further make the process Of dropping the lead that much easier. Nash makes a tail rubber clip combo just for this. And as Brian said there are several lead systems on the market now which are designed to drop the lead on the take, which as we all know can be extremely costly and quite frankly rediculous and uneccesarry. BUT, it does take a variable out of landing a fish. I'm confident that our strong wild fish can, if they are unfortunate enough to break your mainline, nd get snagged up by the lead (doubtful IMO) shake the lead clip free from the swivel.
