  1. Sir,

You don't know me nor do you know what I know or who I know, but I can tell you this, I do know, for a fact, that there are some (not all) pay lake facilities currently under investigation for involvement in similar activities. The investigation did not start as a pay lake thing, it started with criminal activities and the path led to pay lakes. I do not know where these are located other than I assume they are not in the south. That is all I know. My acquaintance in law enforcement will not tell me any more than that. The only reason it came up in conversation is that he knows I fish and told me that if I fished at pay lakes I might be better off avoiding them.

As for bashing the places, as I have never been to one I am not sufficiently qualified to bash them and for the record I am not anti-pay lake but I am anti-thieving, drug dealing, scumbag.

    ...W

There are bad men in all walks of life. I too have a history. Not only of the Southern paylake scene, but on a world level. Paylakes are no different than any other type of buisness one might choose to love. Step back and have a look where this thread is headed. The authors of this topic are not by chance.

    Regards

    Tom.

  2. I would only ask that those that have never been to a true Southern Paylake, except in their own missionary minds, take a step back into reality and judge what they know as fact. When one uses the broad brush of ignorance to taint the heritage of five generations of Southern anglers without a hint of reality it smells strongly of Hate and predjudice. I guess we have, once again, passed the stages of co-operation and common respect. Too bad.

  3. Tom...I'm with you on this...as long as you promise to take a leaf out of your own book and apply the same principal to boilies, European methods, Methods and venues...deal? :) :) :)

You forget, my friend, I was tought the art of Euro style angling by the best. I can walk both sides of the street with absolute honesty.

  4. Let me be so bold as to offer a bit of wisdom. If you don't know what your talking about, keep your trap shut because odds are your very very wrong. These guys that are in the bait and tackle selling buisness recognise that the paylake style is a killer to their buisness. Any idiot can figure out the rest.

  5. If you have a look at the big girls blouses that bash paylakes you'll also see the same anglers that get their clocks cleaned each and every time they compete against a paylaker. If they even have the balls to compete. Not to mention the fact that they have never even frequented a paylake down here in the South, but still, they are the experts of the keyboard. Lame.

  6. REALLY?

I'm not saying all pay lakes are dens of iniquity but this story is a small tip of a big iceberg.

You know this as a fact ? Please feel free to name names. Surley you can.......NOT......

  7. As if the fact that they take a natural resource from public waters to make money and run gambling wasn't bad enough already.

As an angler who respects the common carp as being a true sport fish, I'm always sorry to see the condition of the fish that massive over stocking causes at these places too.

Wish they were all shut down!

I only wish you knew first hand what you were talking about. :sorry:

  8. I heard, through the grape vine, that all the K1 guys have finally had enough of Team Packbait at B-ville. Can't blame them though. :icon_smoking: I must say I never thought I'd see the day.....They are a decent bunch but I guess a man needs to know his limitations. lol..

  9. Jason had to turn teams away. As always these days someone has to improve on something that works. $1500.00 a team isn't for the average everyday angler I see there are only 15 teams When at first there were 20 Will the 15 hold up?? What was wrong with old entries of $600.00 to $750.00 Some of the changes as allowing runners to compete and top 10 fish are good, but the entry??? Well I think all can see, it put a lot of anglers on the bench It did me .......................

Come on Ed. you can't take it with you. lol..

  10. Is it true that the rules require that participants be prepared to eat their own bait to discourage the use of anything that might be fish-unfriendly?

If so, I do wonder if enough consideration has been given to the possibility that a bait might be fish-friendly yet very human-unfriendly. :)

    Iain.

You think too much m8. lol... :icon_smoking:

  11. This part of the rules made me LOL...

The rule here is that the angler must be prepared to eat the bait, to prove it is safe for the fish.

Good luck choking down a Fishmeal, N-butyric Acid, Minamino boilie!

I hear Mr. Big snacks on Hot Sauce flavored puffs while he fishes, so he's good with that rule!

Since Puffs are not bait but instead the pickup/lifter then I'm OK eating my bait. Now, since the boilie is bait I think ya'll long rods just might have a problem..lol.. I'll be sure to watch this one go down...lol..

  12. It's looking more and more like Baldwinsville could be available this year....it's a great venue....not sure about the logistics, anyone here from there have any thoughts?

Do you think these guys can handle all those fish? I would imagine the rules should be changed to accomodate the boilie chunkers. lol

  13. Ya'll northern guys think you have a hard time geting Grits, you should see what the Brits/Euro guys have to go through to get it. " the military commissary on the U.S. military bases is the only place it is available." I have heard from a very respected Brit that the shelves stay bare due to the service guys buying it for the Brits/Euro guys.

While you'll never hear about it in the Euro carp mags, its not propper ya know, they are using it and loving it.
