  1. Sorry to start another tread, but I think there is a need. I want all to read, if I post on the same threads some might not come back to it. So here I go.

It takes alot of work to put on a show that alot experienced this past weekend. I thank all of those that showed up for the CCC. I also thank all of you for the kind words. The Indy crew might of put on a kick a$$ show but it was the sponcers that made it nice! Thanks to Wacker Baits,Big Carp Tackle,Better Bank Anglers,K-1 Boilies,Fox International, Westside Baits,The Hoosier Carpers,The Bait Place,Hubbards South Lakes,Carp Carpio.... hope I didnt miss anyone. The items sponcerd are givin to the anglers as a celabration of their accomplishments. Thanks again to all of ya!!

Next...I want to thank Warren Herbert(owner The Bait Place) for suplying the cookers and cookin all the corn up at the boil party. Thanks Warren!! Also a big thanks to the stewards: Frank and Narda Walters,Chuck Knoll, Kevin Tharpe and Dzemal Dzalic...Thanks guys!! Also I want to thank Jimmy Morgan,Adam Jinkins and Josh Jinkins, for the help Friday night cleaning up Westside, thanks you guys!!! Not to forget one of the most important persons in all this Jim Donlan!! I cant say enough about this guy. As you all know Jim puts a hundred percent in all he does. With out him, it just would'nt be the same.

Last and certainly not least. Goes to my wife and i'm not just saying this so I can get out of the dog house LOL.

Friday night at the party we were telling eveyone to try and get to Westside by 6am, so we could get started with late registration and the peg draw. We wanted to give all the anglers inclouding the last peg drawed to have at least an hour to set up and chum alittle. Well Friday night or should I say Saturday morn 3am, I had just finished the sections angler and score boards. There was about a hour or so before the alarm was to go off when I wanted to get up and get going. I knew it was going to be hard to get up so I set two alarms. Wweeell my wife gets up to go to the bathroom, notices that its 5:30am(we live about 20mins or so away from WS) hollars at me..."Rick its 5:30 LETS GO"!!! So off we go running around 3feet off the floor, trying to get all we needed for the day. We get to WS around 1/4 after 6 to a huge crowed of people. Heres where the thanks to my wife comes into play. She had this awesome system down over the past months of preregisters, that after the last group of guys(Tom B.,Tim C.,Rod M.,)were drawed, they still had an hour and some change to go. Because of this system and the help of Melanie Sims(thanks Mel), we peg 78 anglers in around 45mins!!! with no PROBS!!! amaizing!!!

I hope and it sound like it, that everyone that attended had a great time!!

PS..... Come on DC!! Not that I would'nt do it agian, just not soon....like several years soon.LOL Thanks agian to all! It was an honnor to host the first roaming CCC!!

  3. "Chum all 125 pegs, Bank sticks, I don't thinks so... I tried it and it did not work out".

The area 125 pegs...has been chumed...all pegs. Next weekend there will be a local fishing turnament(turn will be chumed) and after, there will be a second bank clean up done. This area just past the wall was a jungle. Thanks to some members of the HC and more weekend after next, the banks will be in great shape. I know some people dont have pods. Bank sticks are very useable. Just past the side walk that Mr. Carpinator is laying on is grass. The only way you wouldnt beable to use a bank stick is if the dirt is to dry to push a bank stick in the gound(if not I have a hammer and a old bank stick that i'll beat in the ground to get you started). If there are any other ?s PLEASE ask and they will be answered as best possible. Thanks to all and hope to see you in Indy!!

  4. Hi Guys,

I am one of the Indy guys and here is what I believe to be true.

Corn is one of the best baits on the White River. This being said, there are any number of baits that we bring them in. I would use whatever you are most confident with.

The stretch of river that we will be fishing is comprised of a large hill with a wide sidewalk all along the river. There are no railings. You will have to get down from the sidewalk to the waters edge in order to net fish. The Hoosier Carpers have been out cutting down all brush and weeds along the stretch in order to make netting easier.

Westside Bait is directly across the street from the venue. In addition to bait and tackle, they sell some drinks and snacks.

This is a very sunny location. There is no shade at this venue so bring along your shelters, canopies and umbrellas to get out of the sun. I would also bring a cooler with drinks.

You will want to bring a rod pod or tripods to this event. Bank sticks will not work well since you will setup on the sidewalk. You can setup your chairs and shelters in the grass behind your pods.

Since this event is being sponsored in part by Westside Bait, you can be assure that you will be well taken care of. Jim Donlan and his group take really good care of tournament goers.

I was at the river just yesterday and found the current very light. Two ounces was plenty of weight. If it rains the week of the event and the river is up, you will need more.

This is Indiana so you will be able to fish with three rods. Be sure to get your license on line or at Westside. I have been asked for my license by the DNR at this location.

There is no fishing on this stretch of the White river the week prior to the event. There is however free fishing at Hubbard's pay lake on Friday. There are also numerous other places to fish around Indy that week. You might try Eagle Creek Res., The Indianapolis Water Canal near Butler University, The White River anywhere other than the venue, Morse Res. in Noblesville.

The river will be chummed the week of the event. If I remember correctly the chum is put out at 20yards and 40 yards.

You won't hear a lot from the Indy guys on here because they stick to their board most of the time. I know that if you go to http://www.indianacarptalk.invisionzone.com/ you can find pictures of the venue and some more information. Rick, Gil, Kevin and the whole gang have put a lot of effort into this so far. I am sure that a great time will be had by all.

If you would like any more info, I will be happy to help. You can email me anytime at tdines@rickers.net. I will also check here daily.

    Sincerely,

    Tim Dines

Thanks Tim for posting this info. There will not be fishing the week of the turnament. I aslo think that on most pegs(99%)you can use bank sticks. It just makes it a little tuff for the anglers getting to their pegs going around in the grass. There will be cold water for all and a lunch served to your peg. Going to the pegs will be a little work, depends on the peg# you draw(1 tru 125). The biggest challenge is a hill down to the pegs. Walking at a slight angle would be the best way down. There will be some youngones helping who ever needs help down and Jim from westside will have a few carts for people in need. For the most part it is very angler friendly. We will also have portable bathrooms at the bottom for the not so serious movements, if actions are going to be serious, Westside has a restroom a the top of the hill. Hope this answers all ?'s. Have any more post up...fill free to ask. See you all in Indy!!

  5. Anyone know if it is to late to register for a room at the hotel at the negotiated rate? The first post states that it must be done by 8-7. Just curious if anyone has booked a room in the last week?

I'm not sure Tim? try it see what they say. There have been some registerd...when?

  6. Glad to see the list start to form. We are going to be using the OnLine keepsack, so get the registrations in as soon as possible, so we can get you registered on it. Once your registered you can go in and update you profile. Thanks to all...looking forward to seing you here!!

  7. Does anyone remember the year we won?

Natasha wants to put that years T-shirt up for the grandkids (the ones long after I'm gone).

    Phone

    Hey Phone,

It was the tan shirt with the big red/orange star and a common in the center of it(on the back). Around the out side of the star/fish had the Austin Team Championship. Hope this is what you were looking for.
