  1. Yes this will be an annual event, accordbw. Next year we will be trying to have this event in April. The month of April is Autism Awareness Month. Thanks so much for the offer! I am getting emails and texts ready this week to send out to all the great sponsors that have already given so much. Outside of already being a great cause, sponsors make an event as well.

Thanks Derek to you and the wife, also looking forward to seeing you Brian.

  2. we are proud to announce the 1st annual “Hooked on Autism and Carp Tournament”

On Saturday August 9th from 8am to 4pm at Pike Lake in Warsaw IN. It will be in Lucerne Park and Pike Lake Park.

Entry Fee/ Donation Fee: will be $25 with 100% going to Autism Awareness and Research. Prizes for top 3 fish will get first pick of donated prizes. All other donated items will become raffle ticket prizes. Any non present angler wanting to donate the $25 will still be eligible for raffle as well.

All anglers will be encouraged to let the kids participate in all aspects of carp fishing...angling of fish, netting, and release of fish and of course pictures. Hands on is a great learning experience for the children.

Lunch will be provided to all in attendance. We will have a donation bucket in the food area.

Pat Welch will have his “More than Words” custom Chevy S10 autism show truck for pictures with anglers, children and the carp.

Shirts will be available for $20. All money over cost of shirts will go to autism awareness.

Bring the whole family for a fun filled day, with lots to do and see.

Watch for updates on this event.

For more information or questions please feel free to call or text.

  3. Had a great time with Denice and all the other great anglers that showed up. We got there Friday night and stayed till Sunday. Didn't get into the beasts that this lake holds, but we did manage 24 fish between the both of us for the weekend. Denice had 10 fish, her biggest 13+ and I had 14 fish 12+ mine. Like Gil said, it was good to see some new life to an old tradition here in Indy...THANKS Derek!

  4. Want to thank a couple more sponsors for jumping on board. Mark Metzger of Highcliffe Clothiers. Also want to thank Fish Bandits Clothing. You guys rock!

  5. Great list of sponsors. We have a Dick's Sporting Goods in Chattanooga. Refresh my memory- don't they carry some carp tackle? Delete if off topic.

Dont think they carry tackle...? But they do carry sleeping bags, shelters, bed chair, head lamps, cooking utensils. ..to name a few.
