Obsessed Carper (5/6)

  1. Thanks for the photos. Very much appreciated and if ok we'll use them in NACA magazine.
  2. I would always like to see more folk on the CAG Forum (which is now exclusive to members only) but many over the years, like Horace, are now on Facebook or Instgram. CAG has its own Facebook page with over 4,800 members https://www.facebook.com/groups/carpanglersgroup plus as you say there are also many other locally focused or specialist groups that effectively compete with the CAG forum. Much has changed from the original CAG Compuserve days. There is still some good dialogue in the members only area as well as the Big 4 posts etc but it would be great to see more!
  3. What do you think changed in the membership package? We've always included some basic tackle for beginners, a printed magazine, stickers etc.
  4. Perhaps you have a pop-up blocker that prevents it opening? If I 'hover' the cursor over the calendar event I see a pop-up with details (see image) and if I click it opens up to a new screen. What browser are you using?
  5. 1. CCC and NY Fall Fish-In both open to show details for me. Are you signed into the CAG Forum? 2. Birthdays not showing. No idea why right now but will investigate.
  6. Is there a family membership to CAG? Or Do I need to setup a separate account for my 15 year old?

  7. Does anyone have some photos of Phone? Ideally holding a carp?
  8. It is with great sadness that we learned today of the passing of Dale Anderson from Indiana. Dale was an active CAG Member for many years and we send our condolences to his family and friends.
  9. Details, Rules and Registration: https://www.carpanglersgroup.com/forum/index.php?/forum/420-2021-cag-fall-big4/ Registration open Sept 1 - 30th - No entries accepted once competition has started. Entry Fee is only $10 You must be signed in as a CAG member to enter!
  10. In the early 2000's there was a significant fish kill that possibly impacted the number of bigger fish. The recent carp marathon produced a good number of 20+ fish
  11. Jr. Carp Tournament on the St. Lawrence River Attracted Big Carp and Young Anglers from Across the County and the Northeast A Lisbon angler beat out 65 other competitors to win the 18th annual St. Lawrence International Jr. Carp Tournament last weekend, July 29-31, 2021. Paul “PJ” Payne was grand champion with his heaviest (4) carp weighing 80 lb. 11 oz. He also caught the most fish, with his 14 fish weighing a total of 214 lbs. 10 oz. The tournament was started in 2003 and is now organized by the Carp Anglers Group, North America's longest running carp fishing organization with members across the United States, Canada and Mexico. This year’s tournament, in its 18th year attracted youth from the Hudson Valley in NY as well as Washington, DC, Connecticut and New Jersey. “It was great to have so many kids out on the banks of the River doing what they love. For some, this was their first time ever fishing the St. Lawrence River, for others, this is an annual, multi-generation tradition” noted Jo Ann Roberts, tournament organizer. Chris Schierkolk, who attended with his son, Gabe, from Washington, DC, commented, "there should be one of these tournaments everywhere in the Country!
