  1. Hi Goatsdime,

Particularly if your using a stiff material, also experiment with how far up the shank of your hook the "D" loop ends.

If its too small and too near the eye of your hook, your pop-up will tip your hook so the gape of the hook points down.

If this happens, it's not always the best presentation of your bait.

Hope this helps a bit too...

    Good luck.

  2. Wow!!! Congrats! That is a beast of a fish!

Looks pristine/pretty enough to have just moved from a Los Angeles water I like to fish that contains some gorgeous Carp tarts...

They aren't easy to tempt either.

Would love to hear a little about what was offered up to make her trip up.

    Cheers,

    Wayne

  3. Man, I thought a Euro Roach at first, then thought it might be a little too high in the back... Roach/Bream hybrid?

A rudd has a drop down lower jaw, can't see it's mouth in the photo so hard to say...

Rodman might have nailed it as a Tin Foil Barb too? If so it'd have small barbels/whiskers on the corners of it's mouth?

    Cool fish anyways...

  4. Hi Keith,

    LOL...

Yeah looking forward to actually catching some Carp this year  fingers crossed.

I have done well one of the years (2007) with a good peg on day 1 but sh*t out on day two.

Be good to catch up with you, Neil and all. I'm going to make sure I have a good time...

It's my 50th B/day on February 19th and my 87 year old aunt is in hospital and wanted to treat me for my birthday.

She isn't sure she'll be around then. You know the sitch...

So Going on a little road trip to Austin to fish ATC with Rachel, my wife to fish the Tourny. Got a few cool options but if plans fall through, she'd be more than happy to be my partner.

Hoping to do the Lake Fork bash the following weekend. Should be a great event too as I have a load of good friends their too!

    Best to all,

    Wayne

Be great to see Wayne again, maybe this ATC he will catch some fish

    Just messing with you Wayne.......

  5. Hi Olivier,

    Kind words indeed!

Really, the pleasure was all ours and Rachel & I can't wait until our next road trip up to Portland!

It was great to finally meet you in person, I enjoyed fishing with you very much!

Thanks very much for taking the time to show me around some very cool pegs on your river, wish we'd have had a few days more to spend fishing with you.

Your recomendations for places to stay were spot on too ;) Much appreciated!!

    See you soon...

Best wishes to you, John Chuck & Susan when you next see them.

    Sincerely,

    Wayne

  6. Boh oh Boy.... what to say to terrible news like this...

I heard the news a few days ago and I just can't stop thinking about this great person and Carp Angler.

I met Ladislav Vaskor exactly 5 times in the last couple of years and I felt even after the 1st time as if I'd known him all my life... An unbelievable loss... I have a painful ache deep in my gut...

    I mirror Herks words exactly!

My most sincere condolences to all his friends and family....

Cheers Lad, I'll remember you everytime I go fishing...

The first fish out will always be in your memory!!! :D

  7. I've just booked my flights and sincerely look forward to fishing a long side many friends....

Frank, its a great event to participate in and learn lots of different techniques from various corners of the country and globe...

Its a fantastic venue open for all to win, you never know, it could end up being your show!

Good luck to you and all that attend :D

    Cheers,

    Wayne

  8. Yep!

I'm Guilty as charged... Charley was showing me a fantastic photo of his fully scaled Mirror and in my excitement I lost the "cooking vibe" for about 30 seconds... That was all it took to burn the Corn stew and very nearly take Phil's favorite boiling pot out of action...

    Sorry mate... :D

Great picture story Phil... Was cool hanging with you and Louis and gang...

I thoroughly enjoyed the ATC again this year. Hey, I even caught a fish!!

Can't wait for next year... :D

    Cheers,

    Wayne

and much info about the Lake itself, where to fish etc... Its a cool show!! :D

Please see ACS web-site for more details.

    Hope you all enjoy.

    Cheers,

  10. Hi Scott,

Even though I successfully continued my blanking streak on Town during competitions :D:D:D I really enjoyed the ATC again this year It was great seeing everyone again...

Had plenty of fish after the tourney but nothing huge... Still had a blast though!!!

Congrats Richard on your 30 mate, well deserved!!! All the best....

These two were our largest and came within a couple of minutes of each other during filming, Sean's is 32 and mine 29

Notice how much lighter in color mine is... Gorgeous fish, all of them.

Unfortunately Dave had to leave earlier than us...

Hope you're over your flu bug or what ever it was you had...

    Tight lines to all... :D

    Cheers,

    Wayne

  11. Hi all,

Wasn't sure where to post this one... Hope no one minds, just thought it was funny... Enjoy! :D

We're in the middle of editing a bunch of Carp angling DVD's and came across this still frame from one of the shoots....

Its a photo that says it all.... It was taken after a brutal 3 day shoot and we were all totally shattered...

Here is the caption for the photo. "Mr. Manning bruises the boyz egos again with news of yet another 40+ for him... Hahahahahahaha...

    Dave's still in shock... Hehehehehehe....

    Cheers,

    Wayne

ps Actually, we'd just found out that after thinking we'd finished "this one," we had to redo 4 or 5 hours of it due to a technical hitch... Arrrrrggggghhhhh!!!!!

  12. Dear all,

Well, we all drew straws for who would post here about the Grand opening of the ACS e-store and I got the short one... :D :D

To the few rock throwers out there... be nice to me, pretend that I'm only the messenger... :D:D:D

Seriously though, we wanted to let you know that the ACS e-store is now up and ready for business...

You'll find the link for the e-store on the main ACS web site...

Would like to say a BIG thank you to all you serious Carpers out there for the many words of wisdom, encouragement and positive constructive comments along the way, they really helped!!! :D Also for being so patient during the long foundation building process we've endured... :D:D

We would also like to single out the pioneering suppliers of Carp gear in the US for all their help and supportive actions/words: Paul at Wackerbaits, Rob, Danny and Pete (Daddy) Henwood at Specialist, Bill & Wayne at BoilieShopUSA, Alex at Royal and all that came b4 them...

Lets hope the future brings many more tackle outlets for us all to choose from as this will surely indicate that our wonderful sport is growing in a positive way!!! :D:D

    Sincerely,

    Dave, Sean & Wayne
