  1. I say well done, there is always going to be non believers out there, they have nothing better to do than knock your accompishments, I ran accross the same issue earlier this year with my PB of 33-10, also a bad pic

  2. Fantastic story and wonderful to see. :D

If I may offer a suggestion, John? If you insist on diving in after fish you might want to wear a color other than white. :)

LOL be nice, great session guys and loved the bash John stuff as well.

Mathew is going to give you a run for your money very soon John.

  3. There are smaller euro swivels available or you can just get a smaller American swivels at a local store. The American ones won't have a ring for extra movement but you can just clip a kwik link for that. I like the Korda Kwik Link but any brand would work.

guess I can buy several packs of american swivels and hope one fits correctly.

  4. I would put a small splitshot just above the gripper; that will keep it from moving. If you put it on right (not too tight) it should hold the lead in place but still be fish-safe, and not damage your line.

Other than that, you could try replacing the inserts with lead inserts from Resistance. I believe they're the same ones they put into their leads, and they have a larger 'bottom' end for fitting the swivels.

yeah thought about using a split shot but was worried about the split shot giving me a weak link in the line, as far as using different inserts that would not be possible because the dia. of the lead is the same on both ends like the insert, I would have to bore out one end (too much work lol)

  5. I recently bought some in-line gripper leads and they have plastic inserts, the problems is the insert has the same diameter from front to back, I can't snap a swivel into the insert because it is too small, if I leave the lead moving freely along the main line will this cause me problems on hook-ups? I don't have any beads to keep the lead in place and no smaller swivels, I do however have some other leads but they are so smooth that they do not hold a method ball very well and I will be casting at least 80 yrds out, is there anything I can do or should I leave the gripper lead moving as a running rig?
