  1. thanks again guys for the input ... carl , i once found some clearance bin buys on that red power pro for 4.95 a spool (300 yrs) at dicks sporting goods at northpark ., you can bet i bought all the spools . i used it for carping and never had a problem getting bites with it .

  2. Jesse,

I know several people who use nothing but 12# line, and do fine.

I've used braid (30 - 40) and mono (12 - 20) and have felt comfortable with all of it...

yeah brian ,im one of those 12 lb line users with 50 lb power pro 20 ft leader but went ahead and spooled up with 18 lbs nash dtx cam mono . thats what im gonna take and if it gets rough maybe just re spool there with power pro 50 lb .....thanks guys ! see ya there ! good luck to all participating ! ... is it thursday yet ????????

  3. thank you frank for all the work you put in it. i feel that the rest of my year will be great. if it wasnt for you keeping this alive i would not had gotten my pb or even thought about going fishing that day.

    thank you happy new years

Congrats Cristian on your superb capture ! :party0012icon:

  4. i would not get any pod with one single bar coming from the bottom as those shown . they tend to become wobbly quick in that price range . save your money and invest 100 bucks minimally for a starter pod ie . or use bank sticks at first till you can save for a btter one ...i bought this one for my first pod and now i wish i had spent like in the 175 dollar range for somethiing bigger and with more height adjustments . dont get me wrong its functional but with no features . as far as alarms i started out with these and had good luck with them even in rain , now they are spares .

  5. i only use power pro because all the others i have tried unravel easily , if i were to use an off brand it would have to be on my shock leader but definately not on a hair rig . off brands

really go quick when using a bait needle on them

  6. "There is NO WAY to get that from ANY spincaster; the reputation of US-made 50-y-o Zebco's has no relevance to the disposable Chinese crap you can buy at WalMart, today; and there's NO SUCH THING, as a modern carp-appropriate reel w/ MSRP under $30!!! " i agree with that statement , but i cant think of anything ( i.e. paint, nails ,fastfood resturants) that is as good today as it was even in the seventies much less the fifties , american or foriegn .
