  1. Using the Leaderboard

Before you can log in and submit fish, you must register an account on the Big 4 leaderboard:

Submissions have ended for this year and the log in page has been removed.

Click "registration," and fill in the form. An administrator must validate your account before you can log in and add fish, but that should not take long. You will receive an email when your account is activated.

(These are smaller than actual size)

    Adding Fish

Once your account is activated, you can go back to the same form above to log in and add your results. You may need to reload this page.

After logging in, a form will appear below the leaderboard. Simply enter one fish weight, photo, and location at a time :)

You must fill in both weight fields- for example if a fish is 15 lbs even, you must enter 15 lbs, 0 oz.

Photos must be under 500kb in size. If you are unsure how to resize photos, check out these easy to follow tutorials by CAG member Craig Vandemark:

    Your Gallery

Your results will all display in a personal gallery anyone can see by clicking your name on the leaderboard. This can be seen from the Big 4 forum threads as well as the CAG homepage.

    Adding Non-Competition Images

Do you have a sponsor you would like to shout out with a logo image in your gallery? Or maybe would you like to add two pictures of a particular fish because it was really special to you? You can!

Just upload these type of photos with a weight of 0 lbs 0 oz. :)

    The Logo

The 2011 Big 4 Logo will be attached for download below as JPG and PDF on April 30.

You are required to submit 1 photo of each fish you catch along with it's weight. This photo MUST show the angler holding the fish, a printed 2011 Big 4 logo, and your scale. That may sound like a lot to manage, but we have designed the logo to make it easy to work with:

The Big 4 Logo is only 3.75 x 2.75." This is the size of many state/provincial fishing and hunting licenses. You can easily put your logo in a standard license holder from any tackle shop, and pin it on your clothes, or even your unhooking mat.

    logolicense.jpglicense.jpg

    ex1.jpg

The Big 4 logo is also small enough to tape onto many scale models. If you choose this option, you really only need to make sure your scale is in the photo with you and your fish!

    scale.jpg

    ex2.jpgex3.jpg

A smaller logo also means no more giant ugly print outs in your trophy fish shots :) The star of these photos is you with your fish. The logo and scale just need to be there somewhere to prove you have them. They can be anywhere in the photo as long as they are identifiable.

  3. Can we do fish on the mat with a tape instead of holding the fish with a auto flash? Just find it so hard to get the fish up before the flash goes off.

Sorry, It's a rule so we always have great photos for the NACA ;)

  4. Thanks Louis.

Missed the crappies this year (my high school senior kept me a bit too busy...)

I did not realize burbot were a cold water target. How do you fish for them?

This is the best time of year to catch them. Apparently just a 3" minnow on a hook on the bottom or mid-water to bottom on a float. They are out in the lake in super deep water all year, but come in close to shore to spawn around xmas. I bet the mouth of the SR would be great.. but then again, I never caught one :) Lake erie has lots of them apparently.

  5. Thanks Louis.

I dunno really. I'm going to do what the only real burbot angler I know told me. Fish 3" live baits on the bottom and mid water under a float. Hopefully it works out.... maybe we'll even meet some locals to help us out. The population in erie is supposedly very healthy and this is the right time of year to get them close to shore. I'll be sure to report :)

  6. NEver fished Emma, but I caught a couple nice buffs and seen others in person on LBL after baiting up with rabbit pellets and using them in a pva bag with neutrally balanced pop ups as a hook bait. I got my first ever buff there on New Years Eve a few years ago.

    Good luck :)

  9. Our magazine is awesome. For 9 of the last 10 years, Stewart is the biggest reason why. Stewart has overseen the transformation of the North American Carp Angler from a newsletter to a full color glossy magazine. In addition to putting together the NACA Stewart has contributed immeasurably to CAG in his role as director.

  10. It would be hard to convince anyone that the CAG website was not a huge part of what keeps the group together. For over 10 years, Jim quietly managed our website and forum, always keeping CAG a step ahead. Jim also created most of our early event t shirt designs and was a big part of many CCC's.

  11. The always enthusiastic Gilbert was a CAG board member and long time state chair of Indiana. He was instrumental in the formation of the Indy Carpers and laid a solid foundation for CAG throughout Indiana and in the Indianapolis area in particular. Gil's positive can do attitude manifested itself at numerous outdoor shows, tournaments and fish-ins.

Al Kowaleski was a great contributor to the club as its official historian, director, and moderator. Al was always a supporter of taking kids fishing and was always willing to give a new member advise. One of the true characters of the Carp Anglers Group and the North American Carp Fishing scene.

  12. Neil was a major force on the board during his tenure as Membership Director. The ATC was unforgettable with Neil as Texas state chair. His efforts in Texas have interfaced with the State DNR to have Town Lake named as a Trophy Carp Water and a tourist destination attracting worldwide attention. Neil's never ending enthusiasm and positive outlook really exemplify the true CAG spirit.

  13. Longtime CAG member Pat Kerwin has been a state chair and director. Pat founded CAG's longest running fish-in, the DC fish-in and has been instrumental in helping out with numerous CAG events. Pat's constructive criticism and research ability have helped CAG to grow into the organization it is today.

  14. Paul is one of the earliest CAG member and an untiring advocate of the carp. He has served as President and Vice President and owns the longest running carp specialist store in North America, Wacker Baits. He has supported numerous CAG events and has been instrumental in the running of the CCC.

  15. Buckeye Bob Bernowski created the model of a successful CAG state chair. He grew Ohio CAG membership by creating a series of fish-ins throughout the state. Bob later went on to serve as a director in the form of CAG State Chair Liaison Bob's promotion of carp fishing takes many forms, not the least of which was Bob & Tammy's Carp Corner Website.

    BobBernowski.jpg

  16. BudYancey.jpg

Bud was CAG's first President. He took over CAG at a crucial time in its development. He grew CAG an informal group of about 40 persons to an organization of over three hundred avid anglers, all of whom wanted a little more structure and discipline in the club. Bud provided that and, at a great personal sacrifice of time, money, and frustration, brought it to the state it now enjoys. Without Bud, CAG would simply not exist.
