When I started carpin I was using #6 hooks & had many hook pulls. Since I have switched to #4s I very seldom have any.

[Homeless Spot]

I fished a spot on the river here yesterday that I haven't fished since last spring because a homeless bum moved in there & totally trashed the place. I trimmed a path in there & cleared a lot of over hanging branches in the spring & apparently he found it to be to his liking! The place is a real mess but I wanted to fish there so I put up with it. I got set up in the dark & that woke him from his nest & when he came out of his tent he was a dirty, filthy mess! He thankfully left for the day & didn't come back all day & still wasn't there when I left at dark.

Fishing was slow but I managed four captures.

I had just gotten the third fish in the cradle & the other rod was going so I was able to capture that one too.

I love the pics of your area & the stories of your adventures. What you do is good & letting that youngster land that fish is a prime example. I'm sure that he will remember his catch for a very long time.

It is not a wasted fish when you have the pleasure of seeing the smile on that youngster's face. NICE GOING!

I fished the river here yesterday at a spot I had good luck a few days earlier. Got set up at 7 AM & fished 'till 7 PM & only had one run at 9 AM & banked a 14.6. That was it for the rest of the day. The fish were just not there.

Hopefully they will be there next time!
