  2. I know about the damage grass carp can inflict, i've seen reports on them eating the whole aquatic vegetation depleeting native fish of a place to spawn and lay eggs. I have caught a massive grass carp in Hungary and boy do they put up a fight! Its like hooking into a train. There's a guy in Hungary who is a specialized grasser and has made some nice videos. Check out the link below if your interested. Cheers!

  3. In Europe anglers tend to use the method feeder which sends in sufficient ground bait to get the fish attracted to your bait. The rules goes in winter fruity flavours and in summer the stinky fishy bait does best. I have tried this theory with success in Canada noticing where the water is deep and cold, fish tend to move in on the fruity pleasant smelling ground bait much faster. Last August I tried something new, I used stawberry flavour mixed in with tuna oil which worked wonders. Hope this will help. PS you can also put a whole small semi ripe strawberry on your hair rig but be carefull when casting. Its a wonderful bait that catches Carp.

  4. Hi Guys

Better late than never! My name is Arvand Pouladi and I've been fishing since I was 6 years old ( I am 39 years old ). I have targeted many fish species but nothing beats Carp fishing. I have met a few of you dedicated Carp Anglers over the years and looking forward to meet the other anglers out there. Unfortunately I work overseas and only get to fish occaisionaly back home which is Burlington Ontario. We are blessed to be in a Carp rich area where there are many venues right at our door step giving us the chance to land massive fish. Our European counterparts spend thousands of dollars every year, spend countless hours sitting waiting in pay lakes to land a fish with a name ( a poor fish hooked so many times it hardly puts up a fight ). Every year when I am Carp fishing in Ontario I have people come by and look in awe at the size of fish i catch. they cannot believe that fish that big live in our lakes, some have a negative perspective about carp calling it a trash fish that destroys habitat and so on. Take the time to educate these individuals. I was at Bass Pro shops last summer and i met a Natural resources officer and he was telling me all this Crap about Carp. I explained to him that Ontario can be a magnet for Carp Anglers from around the world generating huge revenue, I gave him examples of certain countries and the amount of revenue they are generating from the sport. I ask all you carp anglers out there to be an ambassador for this great sport, spread the word and hope fully one day we will also be able to fish with 2 rods as opposed to 1. Good luck and tight lines, C U on the Hamilton area lakes!

  6. post-5857-0-13653400-1305482822.jpgHi all, i,m new to the forum and live in Burlington Ontario. My son and I are avid carp anglers and spend most of our free time fishing. I work overseas so I only get to travel to Canada twice a year so I need to catch up on Carp fishing as much as I can to last me the remainder of the year. I have fished for Carp and picked up my techniques in Hungary, California and Arizona. I recently had the opportunity to fish the mighty St. Lawrence and loved every minute of it. My PB was 40lb. I need your help to guide me to the hot spots around Burlington. I have fished Hamilton Harbor and enjoyed it but I need to expand my horizon so if you could help me I would really appreciate it. Lorne was kind enough to send me a map and the hot spots in the Hamilton area. I will be planning a trip to peterborogh in August so any tippers on that area would be great, I have heard about the Niagra whirlpool but need directions on how to get there, so any info is welcome. Hope to hear from all you avid carp anglers. Thanks.
  7. I have never seen an uglier Grassy but I caught one massive specimen using fermented corn and dill. Smells awful but it works for he Grass Carp. I have put a picture of the fish for everyone to see. Enjoy and hope you try my secre recipe. Tight lines!
