Awesome stuff buddy! Great write up! Wish we had carp around my neck of the woods!

Just because you're not doesn't mean others aren't
REALLY?????? 99.99% of the population isn't passionate about carp , which forum you from ????? I believe you're setting the bar overly high as a cop out . I hunt specimen fish there fore I am a specimen hunter , no unreal expectations . There is no requisite to this . You yourself are a specimen hunter .(maybe????)
Here in North America we may not take it to the extremes they do in other lands , but I 've been told slow and steady wins the race .
well said carpinken!

Really nice video, thought I'd share! Cheers!

I don't know about the USA, but with all the anglers in Canada, never heard of anyone ever catching such monsters. The biggest I've heard of is possibly a 50lber! Would be really nice if I or anyone of my fellow Canadian anglers did catch such a huge Carp!

Here's another monster carp caught in France from Rainbow lake! A true beast!

Here's a video I did of a session we did last Saturday. We were fishing off the coast of Dubai & caught a few fish. All in all a good day out, got some rays and a good breakfast! Enjoy!

Nothing wrong with a quick snooze before the runs! After all thats why we have alarms eh! Good on you guys to hook into those monsters! Tight lines folks!

When you say carp these days, people get trigger happy. Grass carp and Asian Carp are two different species and from my understanding grass carp can be found in many of the US waterways along with Asian Carp. Its the authorities who introduced Asian carp to tackle the Algae problem. It was those huge numbers that are the cause of the problem today and not the sale of a few species here and there. Seems like the authorities want to rid themselves of the catastrophe which is bound to happen soon.

Looks kinda constipated. I think you can mix in some Metamucil in your method mix next time you fish that swim :-). WTG mark haulem in buddy!

Thanks Shawn for taking the little guy along with you, so kind of you buddy. Thanks to modern technology I was witnessing the fight through Skype while speaking with the other half, and boy was it a fight. The Lamprey Shawn was mentioning was a python, check out the picture below and you'll see what we're talking about. Awesome fish buddy, don't know how to repay your kindness! Cheers and tight lines!

Welcome to the CAG!Anybody ever fished for carp on the Rideau Canal in Ottawa?
I have scouted a few areas along the canal this summer in the hopes of trying my luck come spring time. I find that in the summer, some potentially good swims are covered with weeds and difficult to fish.
Without pinpointing the area, what time of the year did you fish? Any good results?

Never fished it but looks like a spot where carp would hang out. Good luck and keep us posted. ;-)

Hope you catch the Biggon soon!

Size 4 hooks is fine in my opinion, all you need to do is get the fish to stick around! Increase your freebies and incorporate some method mix, mix it up with some of your boilies and toss in a few balls. If you get runs just throw in some more as to keep the fish feeding. Hope that helps. Tight lines!
