I could use a lesson on fly fishing. Want to try it in Lake Michigan sometime?
-
I would like to add that there has always been a flea market at the CCC and there will be again this year. Open to private parties and to dealers. New and used goods.
Borofc, when your contributions to CAG, either time or goods, reach 1% of mine (or David Moore's), I might be willing to listen to your ill-considered, uninformed comments. Until then, put a cork in it.

For many of the newer digital cameras, you can get a remote. Much better than the usual timmer as you have complete control over the time of the shot. If you don't want to carry a camera tripod, you can get a camera adapter that screws intot he camera and enables you to sctrew it into a bankstick of rod pod.

Bringing it to the top, yeah right. Your post was 21 minutes after mine. I don't think it had sunk that far down.
I do have the permit and a little more knowledge. It should go smoother next time. Trouble is, one never knows what they will be looking for. On a previous shipment, they went nuts because of fishmeal. So I ordered baits without fishmeal and they went nuts over mad cow and Exotic Newcastle disease. Who knows what it will be next time.

Chris, I will be flying to Austin and will send some stuff down. I will probably be out of the bulk pineapple by then (may well be out by Monday, they are flying off the shelf).
Phil, you never pass up a chance at a cheap shot, do you. One of these days I will be clever enough to shoot back Air-tight, factory-sealed bags. They are as soft and smell as wonderful now as the day they were made.

After 5 months of dealing with the seemingly intractable bureaucracies of the US, UK, New Zealand and Italy, I now have Mainline boilies in stock. Including the Pineapple, the Town Lake miracle bait.

I was about to start an arguement with you over that but then you saved yourself with....Clean the rod. Make it look nice for the beginning of the seasonDo not clean your grips unless you want to lose all fishing mojoRods gotta be a little bit crusty.

Would either of you consider doing an article in English for NACA?
-
Very nice, Mattias and Markus. Noice bunch of fish. And thanks for the plug, it never hurts.

I am pleased to announce that Wacker Bait & Tackle is now selling the full line of CAG merchandise; shirts, hats, decals, patches......
-
Lots of good ideas here but, at the risk of being too commercial, I do want to point out that you can get a darn good, actual baiting in your choice of styles for $1.29.
-
Very nice, that is about as easy as it gets.

New Additions,,,,,David Moore & Tal St. Cyr.....
the competition gets tougher !!
Is there meant to be some connection between these two statements? I don't see it.
-
The hybrid species fish were born between a carp and a leather carp in the pond of a personal house in Chongju.
Given the lack of accuracy in this statement. one has to wonder about the veracity of the report.
Carp & leather carp are the same species, their offspring are not hybrids.
-
Take a look at 12-13' carp rods. A fair number of surf anglers are getting them.
-
A weigh sling is the best bet, any good carp tackle store should be able to set you up with one. Failing that, you can weigh it in the landing net, preferably with the handle removed. Zero the scale with either the weigh sling or landing net hanging fromm it, then add the fish to get an accuracte weight.

Paul P and Paul E, since mr Pezalla is not fishing with Al, his odds go up. Knowing mr England like I do, his odds go up even more. But we're still talking Paul Pezalla here....85:1...
You gotta ask yourself, who carried Paul E. at ATC 2003 and 2004? Who carried Tal at ACT Team Nationals 2004?
-
Correction on Team WB&T, should be Paul Pezalla & Paul England. Al St. Cyr will be there but not fishing with me this time.
Got the package today, Scubadoc. Pretty cool.

The normal set up is to use an electronic bite alarm with either a swinger or a hanger (these are the bobbins, swinger is on a metal arm, hanger is on a cord or chain). In order to set off the alarm, the line must move through it, turning the roller wheel (some work on vibration but that is another story). A run will pull the line through over the roller wheel. A dropback (the fish picks up the bait and swims toward you) will cause the line to go slack. The weight of the bobbin then pulls the line through the alrm, setting it off. A dropback probably would not register without the swinger or hanger.
A top quality set-up that would be WELL under your budget could include:
Fox A-Pod
2 WB&T Electronic Bite Alarms
2 9v batteries
2 "U" Butt Rests
2 Fox Micro Swingers
Many other options are available that would also stay within your budget.

Where in Wisconsin are you? Anywhere near Chicago? If so, you should stop in for a visit, good chance to see and learn about carp gear.
The Carp Anglers Group is the national organization, the President and a fair number of members are in Wisconsin.

Looks like you were photographed underwater. Not a bad look.

the pioneering suppliers of Carp gear in the US
I suspect there might be more of these than many of you realize. Here is a quick list off the top of my head:
Nigel Griffin - EuroTackle
Fritz Vatter - CarpSense (Canada but supplied the US)
Peter Clapperton -
Andy Grantam - Specialist Angling Supply
Aurora Tackle
Additions? Corrections?

one has to admire a co-founder of a new tackle store who finds a way to publicly acknowledge competitors in very nice terms in his launch message
Agreed.
Two out of the three are chronically nice, great guys to hang out with. Gotta wonder how they ended up with David.

The best looking site in the business and some pretty good products. My congratulations to the three of you and may the cash flow reverse direction.

You are no where near the 1% mark. Increase that 10 fold and maybe we can talk. Maybe.
