This should turn out to be a nice compliment to the Bud Yancey Champion of the Queen Award. Two distinct ways to recognize the best, I like it.

The link was missing the "t" in "....net".
Should work now.

Carp Fishing Secrets is a PDF download of over 100,000 words (270 pages), along with a whole bunch of photos and illustrations to show you EXACTLY what you need to be doing to catch more carp. Even if you've never fished for these powerful fish before, you'll be able to catch them after reading this e-book. Take a look at the contents listing below and you'll see what we mean. The contents, structure and quality of the articles contained are as good, probably better, than anything you'll find in the world. Coming from seasoned UK Carp Anglers, this book is based on experience, not waffle - it's written by men who've been carp fishing for most of their lives.
We do not sell this book directly but CLICK HERE to read more about it and to find out how to purchase it.

I recall catching 2 or 3 with beetle larvae
People have told me that they have caught them on crickets and I have read that the larger specimens are detritus feeders as well as filter feeders.

We just received a shipment of the new Kamasan Carp Maxx hooks. And they are lovely; their looks inspire confidence.

Poisoned to kill off the fish. ie Treated with rotenon.Rotenoned? What the hell does that mean?Do they do that to moving water?Doesn't seem to likely for that stream.
-
We have a bunch of the smaller Fox System Boxes marked down 20%. These include the shallow 4-, 6-, and 8-comparment and flip boxes. The regular depth full, 3-, 4- and 8-compartment.
These are great little boxes for hooks, swivels, and other bits & pieces.
-
Nice mirrors. Has that place been rotenoned in the past few years?

When does he not swear? Congrats Skip!
You should hear him talk to his wife. He is the sweetest, kindest, most loving guy I have ever heard. Worlds away from his usual %$#@% self.

The day started out great but in early afternoon and fairly strong rain (with lightning) blew through. It only lasted a few minutes and the weather was once again great.

These are unofficial and subject to correction.
76 anglers, 7 fish caught. Winner was Skip Orenstein who had two fish (10 and 15 lbs). Skip is a Chicago area guy who has been carping for years and has done well in prevuous Classics, a top angler who earned his victory. According to his frequent fishing partner, Paul Wells, Fu-Sang Mulberry was the secret to his success.
Big fish was around 17lbs, sorry but I do not have the name of the angler.

I may be able to find a few at work....can't guarantee any lids though.
Great. I would appreciate whatever you can come up with.

Several people were fishing the venue yesterday and a couple of them did quite well. Perhaps 20 or more fish were caught in the area near the old terminal building, the largest was 22 lbs taken by Michael Brada. A couple of people were fishing near the mouth of the harbor - about 10 fish taken the largest 26-14.

If it has fewer than 32 scales in the lateral line, it is a goldfish, not a carp. My count is 26 so it is a goldfish.
-
Just a reminder about the maize boil Friday of the CCC weekend. We will have great bbq, good beer and will be cooking maize for any anglers unable to bring their own.
I am a little short on buckets this year. I would appreciate it if anyone could bring a few - 3-5gal preferably with lids.
