  1. I have already sent a Pm to the North Eastern reps to see what they can come up with, I am planning to encourage some reps from the TN, Georgia area as well....

It has been a long time vision to see Regionals take off within CAG.....

Damn good start, i should say!! congrats & lets hope other States within the US can follow suit & set up a succesfull event also.

Looking forward to this being the 1st of many such events!!

  2. How could you resist not trying to coax these beasts away from the trees?? I would have been in full "stalk" mode to bank one of these beasts @ any time of the year!!.

Good luck when you do get around to trying. Hope to see an update in the near future!!

  3. I have said this before in "another" forum.

If anyone in Ohio can beat the current Ohio State record of 50lb. I will donate my 2nd edition of "REDMIRE POOL" to them as a prize/gift.

    Get fishing guys!!+

  4. Now you see it all depends upon circumstance!. The hair rig was originally invented because UK carp anglers were suffering from aborted takes, where the fish would pick up the hook bait, start to move off & feel resistance & drop the bait. The hair rig counteracted this by the use of long Hairs (sometimes up to 4") so that the carp would take the bait in & feel nothing upon its lips (most hairs back then were made from very very light line, i used to use 2lb test line for my hairs) & then thinking it was safe, proceed to eat! The original concept was "The longer the hair, the better (I bet NO ONE here in the US has used a hair longer than 2"?) I was all about giving the fish enough confidence to take the bait properly ( something that i don't think would be an issue unless fishing the most pressured of carp waters here in the US.

After this it merely became a convenient way of attaching a bait, which is how it is today. It has no correlation with boilies. Boilies were invented to dissuad nuisance fish from taking the bait off the hook due to most anglers using soft or paste baits at the time.

I use a hair rig for 95% of my fishing, only when I'm FLOAT fishing or FlOATER fishing do i use something different!.
