Congrats on the P.B.'s, some real beauties!

I have replaced alot of my BFS gear that I started with over the years with pricier bigger name products whereas some of their products are just as good as the big name stuff and I will never need to replace (rig wallet, weigh sling, throwing spoon etc.). But more importantly, I feel that I probably wouldn't have ever started fishing euro style if the low cost BFS products weren't available to get me into it. So in my opinion BFS fills an important niche in the US market.

If theyre are worried about water clarity, why didn't they scoop up that constantly crapping duck swimming around too,

Congrats! Kind of makes me want to go out tomorrow even though its only an expected high of 30 degrees with lows in the teens, kind of getting burnt out on winter time blanks though.

Just got my new wychwood alarms from CarpKit and I am incredibly pleased with the service I got. I have always been apprehensive to order before fearing there would be high shipping costs from a Canadian retailer, well the shipping was reasonable and I got a great deal on the alarms, happy to have CarpKit join the rotation with the domestic retailers I already order from.

Congrats on a successful coldwater session, I am still waiting on my first 2013 carp and the wait is driving me nuts.

I saw this earlier today on carppro, the comment thread is an entertaining read. Carp haters getting mocked and chastised by other flyfishermen. To see carp being accepted in the fly fishing world is very heartening considering the snobby elitist attitude that has been associated with fly fishing. If guys that treasure $3000 bamboo sticks and 10" stocked fish can embrace a "trash fish" surely we can get the bass fisherman and bowkillers onboard with us any day now.

I am surprised they are not sued for using the same name as the Gardner Bait Bomb.
I immediately thought the same thing, the people at gardner should slap a cease and desist letter on this thing asap. Surely a big plastic time released spod doo-hickey laying 6 inches from your hook bait is going to spook fish.

Your lucky to have a friend like that, welding with aluminum is an art.

I find it pretty hard to believe any creature is incapable of feeling pain, and articles like this wont convince the peta crowd either. Catch and release fishing is a pretty absurd thing when you think about it, we take time and energy to capture a source of food only to let it go. If the evolution of man repeated itself a million times over c an r fishing would probably never reoccur as a common pursuit.

Looks like a great wintertime swim, congrats on a productive session, I've had a string of winter time blanks that I desperately need to shake.

Can I fish 3 rods citing it as my cultural prerogative.

Those belly scales look like they have stretch marks! What a HOG

I posted this before but I will say it again, even though no fish were caught it still looks like I missed out on a great time.

I am glad there is someone like you (Willem) to keep this forum running/recovering, I love my local carp forum but the mass amount of information and entertainment available here is unlike anything elsewhere, your work is greatly appreciated by myself and many others I'm sure.

Informative posts like this make being a CAG member worthwhile, gives me fuel when I talk to the anti-carp contingent

Buffalo are native as far as I know, I recently read descriptions of a fish I assume to be buffalo in the journals of Lewis and Clark. Thanks for this post Bob.

Speaking of food and drink and bathrooms, are "adult beverages" allowed at the venue/zones?
My participation may rely solely on the answer to this question LOL

I used to make a dark rye and honey dough ball that produced some good results, never tried to see how it would pack/breakdown without adding honey though.

I know Lake James took some efforts to eradicate carp and gar when I was in grade school, this has probably been close to 20 years ago though. An area in NW Indiana that I have intentions to explore is Lake Webster and other surrounding lakes in Kosciusko county, I have aquaintances that fish for Muskie in the area and often come back with accounts of carp over 36 inches, weedy banks are common with these lakes though.

Real tank of a fish, congrats!

Great session Marshall, I fished a different spot on the White on Wednesday and only managed to hook into a small buff. Looks like I missed out at a chance on some good action downtown!
Lots of credit card fraud recently

Wow this thread was pretty surprising to see, considering I just got off the phone with my bank about fraudulent activity with my card. All online shopping stuff (flowers, car parts, dating sites, etc.) luckily for me they were greedy and all the charges were over my credit limit. I wonder if the security of one of our tackle vendors has been jeopardized. I most recently purchased from carp kit but I have also ordered from wacker and big carp in the last month or two.
