Hot Tips… There are rarely any short cuts to consistently catching big carp… especially here in the North America. Rule #1 Fish where the fish are… An obvious statement perhaps but one that is too often overlooked! If you are focused on catching big fish or perhaps just seeking lots of action with smaller carp then choose a water that can produce fish of the appropriate caliber. That might seem obvious but a little extra time spent on research instead of fishing can increase your chances significantly. And don’t overlook a water that you’ve been ‘told’ doesn’t have big fish or looks too small… there have been plenty of surprises from such venues over the years! Here in North American we have thousands of untapped carp waters that have yet to reveal their true potential. Knowledge is power and every year we are seeing more & more anglers catching bigger & bigger fish! But please don’t be offended when someone on a carp forum refuses to give away their secret hot spots… they’ve probably invested a lot of time & effort to find them and are unlikely to invite you along without at least getting to know you first!
