Every year 80 – 100 Junior Anglers including many newcomers compete for Trophies, Cash & Tackle Prizes plus Special Awards.

The Junior Tournament takes place over two days at the end of July or Early August along 25 miles of  the mighty St Lawrence River around the town of Waddington, NY. 

There are two age groups for the main two day tournament:

– Girls 11-14 & Boys 11-14

– Girls 15-18 & Boys 15-18

In 2024 we also added a special 4 hour event for kids ages 8-10

Newcomers are welcome and we host a special Carp School to help teach the fundamentals of Casting, Catching, Playing, Landing and then carefully Releasing trophy sized carp!

The Junior Tournament is hosted by the Carp Anglers Group and supported by local companies, sponsors, generous donors together with a dedicated team of Marshals & Volunteers. 

It is part of a series of tournaments supported by a Market New York grant from I LOVE NY/New York State Division of Tourism through the Regional Economic Development Council initiative.
