  7. Ccc Re-Con Mission

Since I haven't fished the "Big Lake" on my many ventures to Chicago I thought it might be a good idea to get a feel for it so I decided to do a "re-con mission" so to speak. On Friday I checked out the Heart of Chicago Motel and it looks to be everything Dan (Slimy) described it to be. Nothing fancy but it looks clean and safe. Next stop Wacker Baits to pick up a few bits and chat with Mr. Pezella. Only about a 20 min drive from the Motel.... a little more in traffic. Picked up my bits and baits and headed to the campground. Arrived at Montrose Harbor at 5am...3 rods in and ready to catch at 6AM. Paul Wells then Paul Pezella arrived to fish with me for a while. Mr. Wells left around 10AM and Mr Pezella left around 11 am and no fish had been landed. I stayed until about 2pm with nary a tap on my lines but used the time to practice using my new SPOMB. I put a lot of bait in the water in hopes of better luck the following day. Arrived at Montrose Harbor 5AM again and the lake looked a bit ominous. The waves were crashing hard enough to splash anyone standing too close. It was a bit breezy as well and I considered packing it in and heading home.....good thing I didn't. Set up and all rods in the water by 6AM and at 610AM all hell broke loose. Below is the list of times and sizes for the day as well as a few pictures (sorry for the poor quality but all I had with me was my phone and had to ask a few interested passers by to take them) All total for 4 hours 15 fish/237lbs.....3 of which were over 20lbs. They were still biting when I left but needed to head home (plus I was plum wore out) 610-10LB 630-12LB AND 15LB 645-21LB 700-7LB 715-15LB 730-17LB 800-15LB 815-22LB 830-18LB 840-17LB 855-15LB 930-14LB 945-16LB 955-23LB MY VIEW FOR SATURDAY.....NO ACTION 21 LB 23 LB LOOKING FORWARD TO GETTING BACK UP THERE FOR THE CLASSIC!
  8. Ccc Rules 2011

  9. Ccc Rules 2011

Hey 911 I don't see anyone questioning the rules....just getting clarification to ensure we follow them. The first line of my post reads Not questioning the rules and/or why they are the way they are. The way I see it if you don't like the rules then don't play the game but I need some clarification and details please.
  10. Ccc Rules 2011

Not questioning the rules and/or why they are the way they are. The way I see it if you don't like the rules then don't play the game but I need some clarification and details please. Will any bait/chum etc. you can put out using a spod and/or spomb will be allowed? OR will any bait/chum etc. you can put out using a spod and/or spomb not be allowed? Can you use a "wacker blaster" or "gardner balls out" bait launcher or similar device to introduce loose bait? Can you use a "wacker blaster" or "gardner balls out" bait launcher or similar device to introduce chum balls? Can you use PVA bags introduced by rod and line? Can you use chum balls introduced by rod and line? The way I read the rules as long as you are using a rod/reel/line to introduce your bait/chum etc. you are "legal" just checking to make sure. Again...not questioning rules....just need some clarification. Thanks!

  12. Where To Stay During The Ccc

Just booked our room at the Heart of Chicago....Bill Hodge and me along with Dick Laubscher and Richie from Ohio will be staying there. I believe Rick Slinker and Gilbert Huxley are going to stay there as well. Looks like the Heart of Chicago is the place to be for the Classic. Thanks for all the info and legwork Dan! Looking forward to it boys.....should be a blast!
