maninblack Posted June 13, 2014 Report Posted June 13, 2014 Still amazes me that people read one part of a story and are so narrow minded that it must be the truth. Darn , I just dropped an egg, do I sue the supermarket, company or the chicken? As far a customer service goes the "truth" is almost irrelevant...what you have is an unhappy customer, the company can choose to weigh up the financial repercussions of replacing an item and making that customer happy (and loyal), against the, on average (by research) ten other customers (and so on by word of mouth) that it will lose due to the bad egg... Glad to be of service Craig! Quote
JGPHILLY Posted June 13, 2014 Author Report Posted June 13, 2014 Rodman I contact the vendor and Nash. The vendor can help get it to me a there cost and put it on there order which I'll have to wait months for most likely. I sent Nash an email myself yesterday waiting to hear back. I figured being a sponsored angler he might be able to help me out by talking to them or something. I'm stressing all options. Quote
goatsdime Posted June 17, 2014 Report Posted June 17, 2014 Yea I'd have to say Nash ain't that helpful with replacement parts myself Quote
Tribal Carper Posted June 24, 2014 Report Posted June 24, 2014 I've said it many times on this forum , Nash makes cheap Chinese junk and sells it under the well know Nash name...but it's still junk. I do think they make nice bed chairs and bivvies but they should have stayed with what they know...not rods and reels. I own a Nash ball maker and do think it's a good idea. I will keep it until a better manufacturer like Fox or Korda come out with a better version....then I will give the Nash one away. Until then it remains the ONLY tackle item from Nash and will NEVER own anything else from them. Quote
cypry Posted June 24, 2014 Report Posted June 24, 2014 I hope this get's resolved to your satisfaction. A question for those that know these rods... Are they really designed for casting large method balls? I know I would be really nervous trying it with any 10 ft rod regardless of the test curve. I was under the impression these rods were more designed for the roving stalking type situation under overhanging trees and around snags and such. Quote
Phil Scheurer Posted June 24, 2014 Report Posted June 24, 2014 I don't know about Nash but I have a 12' St. Croix Avid Carp, I cast out Big carp bomb's never had a problem with the tip. Also Chub Stalker 9' now that's a really good rod. Quote
Carpskunker Posted July 5, 2014 Report Posted July 5, 2014 Some of the so called sponsored anglers really just make you laugh- ie. trying to buy a greys rod and broadcasting unsolicited it wasn't needed cause of the sponsorship without asking why it was being sold. Funny old game carp fishing. Fact of the matter is, it seems there are more sponsored carp anglers in this country then non sponsored - it almost makes a mockery of it. Fact. Quote
JGPHILLY Posted July 5, 2014 Author Report Posted July 5, 2014 Hahah someone saw this post and sent me a pm trying to sell me on a different brand. There like flys on $#it Quote
Carpskunker Posted July 5, 2014 Report Posted July 5, 2014 I actually think some of the American made baits only customers are their sponsored anglers. Guaranteed sales!!! Smart marketing. Quote
JGPHILLY Posted July 5, 2014 Author Report Posted July 5, 2014 I could never justify spending $300 on boilies to chum. Quote
accordbw Posted July 5, 2014 Report Posted July 5, 2014 Hahah someone saw this post and sent me a pm trying to sell me on a different brand. There like flys on $#it That person would be me. It was not so much the flys on sh&& approach but the fact I was letting you know there was a company I deal with that warranties the rods regardless of what happens. Sorry you took me trying to be helpful a different way. Quote
Guest RebelCarp Posted July 5, 2014 Report Posted July 5, 2014 Philly please dont place Brian into that category. He isnt that type of guy and would do anything for you to help a carp angler out. Not force you into bs If he talked about the sonik rods he has, they are awesome. I use 3.5 saxons for river fishing and the 3.5 soniks feel like they are meant for river fishing. They are extremely comfortable when holding above the reel seat. I will be upgrading to these over the winter. Quote
JGPHILLY Posted July 5, 2014 Author Report Posted July 5, 2014 It just seemed as you where taking advantage of the situation. If that wasn't you intentions my apologies. You weren't the only one who pmed me either. Quote
JGPHILLY Posted July 5, 2014 Author Report Posted July 5, 2014 Its hard to read someone through text Quote
accordbw Posted July 5, 2014 Report Posted July 5, 2014 It just seemed as you where taking advantage of the situation. If that wasn't you intentions my apologies. You weren't the only one who pmed me either. No problem, I can fully understand why you may have thought that. That is why I like talking in person with most people. I can write something on a forum and 10 people read it and it can all be taken a different way. Quote
JGPHILLY Posted July 5, 2014 Author Report Posted July 5, 2014 Well thanks for the advice then. Ill be selling all my Nash stuff when the new rod section comes in. I'll havelook into them Quote
(CO) JohnFinney Posted July 5, 2014 Report Posted July 5, 2014 (edited) Given that there are supposedly 3 million people now targeting carp now in the USA, though this does not note the method the carp are being caught, it is most unlikely there are more "sponsored" anglers than not, i'd even go so far as to say, IMPOSSIBLE. It may feel that way to some because the "sponsored" anglers will typically be very active in sharing their activities via electronic mediums to others. Again, go figure, that's why they are given sponsorship, to have, to hold, to experience and to share, and to do so often ! Marketing 101 ! I have personally used Nash products for a few years now, rock solid and well worth the premium price. If they were to fail, and I contacted Nash for support, I would expect a level of service equal to the premium for owning their products. If the product failed due to my own handling, well, I would also expect to be paying for the replacement. The crunch comes down to, did I break it, or did it fail ? Regretfully the manufacturer has no idea and I am sure they receive many requests, on a daily basis, to replace kit that "failed" ... all they can go by is their own internal metrics on actual failure rates to make the judgement call on replacement. I snapped 2 Daiwa rods in less than a year. Daiwa replaced both, charging me only shipping. The second time I called, they even joked that I was becoming a "frequent" flier with their customer service department. If I had snapped a 3rd, I suspect, I would be paying full price for the replacement and honestly, I would expect to be doing so. I did actually call them a 3rd time when the line guard on one of their reels shattered. In this instance, they sent me a replacement free of charge, not even a shipping cost. The product obviously should not have failed in that manner, it did and they replaced it. I have had a ceramic insert break on the rod tip recently. I will be replacing the tip. I will also be using rod tip protectors in future! Edited July 5, 2014 by JohnFinney Quote
